The Chicago Police Department will be conducting a DUI Strike Force Patrol in the Austin (15th) District. The DUI Strike Force Patrol will commence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2015 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2015.

Johnson was arrested and charged after he entered a restaurant and fatally shot a 41-year-old male during an armed robbery on October 31, 2014, at approx. 7:10 pm on the 5200 block of W. Madison. Through the course of the investigation, Johnson was also identified as the offender who entered a liquor store on July 26, 2014 on the 3100 block of W. Montrose. Johnson then robbed the store at gunpoint and fired a shot at a male victim. Johnson was subsequently taken into custody and charged accordingly.
About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 011th District (Area North) of an increase in robbery related incidents that have occurred during the month’s of January and February. In these incidents, offender’s utilized a black /dark van and took by force and the threat of force by displaying a handgun, and taking cell phones, USC and personal property i.e. purse containing identification and credit cards from citizens on the street.
About the Crime:
On Thursday, February 12, 2015 at approximately 8:15 A.M. in the area of 5700 S Keeler Ave a male student was approached by a male white between the ages of 55-60. This person attempted to grab the male student on his way to school. The student was able to get free and run home.

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 12th District of burglary incidents which have occurred during the month of February. In these incidents, offender(s) gain entry into residences (by use of a pry tool) and take property from therein.

Anthony Guedes was extradited from Kissimmee, Florida after he was identified as one of the people who participated in the murder of a 24 year old male on September 5, 2014 in the 6200 block of S. Kilpatrick Ave. at approximately 5:11 p.m. The victim was found deceased inside a residence with a gunshot wound to the head. Two other offenders have previously been charged: Luis Alfredo, 18 on September 16, 2014, and a 16 year old male juvenile on November 7, 2014. No further information available at this time.
Monte Williams was arrested after he was identified as the man who shot two people in 9500 block of S. Oglesby Ave. on August 31, 2014 at approximately 9:15 p.m. The 51 year old male victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and the 27 year old female victim sustained a gunshot wound to the arm. Both victims were taken to Christ hospital for treatment. No further information available at this time.
There have been three recent Commercial Robberies in the 16th and 25th District. In these cases, a male white Hispanic offender enters the business, displays a Chrome/Silver handgun and demands money from the register.
The 018th District partnered with MGR Youth Empowerment to bring one of its programs, The Food Circle, to the Near North community. Food is donated from stores in the area, such as Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s, and bags full of groceries are distributed to those in need.
