This alert gives notice to the residents of the 19th District of robberies that occurred recently in the month of October. In these incidents, multiple male offenders approached the victim on the street or in an alley and used force to steal wallets and cellphones.

This alert gives notice to citizens of the 004th District (South Chicago) of two armed robberies reported on Beats 421 and 424 involving similarly described offenders. In each incident, the victims were approached by two to three female offenders, one of whom was observed to be armed with a knife or switchblade. The offenders proceeded to attack the victim and either removed or attempted to take property by force.

Michael Santiago was arrested and charged after he knowingly stored a loaded firearm on top of a refrigerator with access to his minor children in their home. The incident occurred on October 17, 2015 in the 1000 block of North Francisco Avenue at approximately 9:05 p.m. Santiago’s six year-old son retrieved the revolver and accidentally shot his three year-old brother in the head. The victim was carried by a family member to Norwegian hospital and subsequently transported to Mt. Sinai hospital where he was pronounced.  Michael Santiago was charged accordingly. No further information is available at this time.

Christopher Garza was arrested after he was identified as the person who shot and killed a 20 year old man on January 29, 2015. The victim was discovered unresponsive in the alley of the 1200 block of W. 32nd Street at approximately 3:10 a.m. The victim was pronounced on the scene. During questioning about an unrelated incident, Garza head butted an investigating Detective. That Detective sustained minor injuries. Garza was charged accordingly. No further information is
available at this time.

This alert gives notice to citizens in the 008th District (Chicago Lawn) of robbery incidents which have occurred during the month of September/October. In these incidents, the offender approaches the victim in a bank parking lot and demands/forcibly removes their property.

This alert gives notice to residents of the Morgan Park (22nd) District, in the Washington Heights neighborhood of four recent armed robberies. In these incidents, an unknown male offender approaches males in the alley while they are exiting their garages, displays a handgun and demands their property.
