009th District (Deering)


About the Crime:

This alert gives notice to citizens in the 009th District (Deering) of armed robbery incidents which have occurred during the month of November/December.  In these incidents, unknown male black offender(s) approach victim(s) and demand their property. Incident times and locations are listed below:

 

Incident times and locations:

5000 Block of South Justine Street on November 15, 2016 in the evening hours.

5400 Block of South Loomis Blvd. on December 4, 2016 in the evening hours.

 

About the Offenders:

Offender(s) are described as:

Four unknown male blacks, 18-24 years old.  5’05-6’00, 150-190lbs.  Three wearing black hoodies and one with a white hoodie.  One offender with dreadlocks.

What you can do:

  • Always be aware of your surroundings
  • Report suspicious activity immediately
  • If you are confronted by an assailant remain calm
  • Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, limp, acne, teeth, etc…)
  • Never pursue a fleeing assailant, provide the information to the police
  • If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information
  • Dial 9-1-1 immediately and remain on scene when possible

On Dec 7, 2016 at 11:52am in the 5100 Block of South Long, a Female, 94, was followed into the hallway of her home by an unknown male black offender.  The offender grabbed the victim’s purse, battered the woman, and fled the scene with the purse.  The victim sustained facial injuries and was taken to Macneal Medical Center in stable condition.  A short time later, officers discovered an abandoned vehicle crashed in the alley of 5700 block of south archer.  Officers determined the vehicle was stolen and believe the offender of the robbery fled in the stolen vehicle. The offender is described as a male black, approx. 30 years old, with short black hair, beard, and a brown leather jacket. No one in custody and detectives continue to investigate the case.

About the Crime:

The offender followed a 94yr old female victim into her house where he battered her

and took her purse. The offender then fled the scene in a stolen vehicle, which he is

observed crashing and fleeing from at 5700 Block of S. Archer. The offender fled

eastbound on foot from the crash. The vehicle was reported stolen from the area of

6200 S Francisco Ave.

About the Offenders:

Detectives are seeking to identify one male black offender, approximately 25-35

years old, 6’00” tall, 200lbs, with a beard, and a brown leather jacket

If video surveillance equipment is present, please save a copy of the incident

for investigating detectives

DUI STRIKE FORCE PATROL – DEERING (009th) DISTRICT

The Chicago Police Department will be conducting a DUI Strike Force Patrol in the Deering

(009th) District this weekend. The DUI Strike Force Patrol will commence at 6:00 p.m. on

Saturday, December 10, 2016 and end at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 11, 2016.

The purpose of this program is to saturate a pre-designated area with roving police officers

that continually monitor vehicular traffic for signs of impaired driving. Patrols also place

emphasis on speed, alcohol-related and safety belt violations. Police vehicles equipped for

speed detection are deployed to apprehend speeding violators.

In addition, the Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) Mobile Unit may also be deployed to allow

officers to expedite the process of charging a person with Driving under the Influence (DUI)

prior to transporting an alleged into the nearest lockup for bonding. The mobile unit also allows

for Individual Recognizance Bonds (I-Bonds) to be issued at the site of the DUI Strike Force

Patrol.

Park (17th) District this weekend. The DUI Strike Force Patrol will commence at 7:00 p.m. on

Friday, December 9, 2016 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2016.

Offender: Javier Villalobos-Garcia, 19 – 1400 block of W. Elmdale Ave.

Charges: Four Felony Counts of Robbery – Armed with a Firearm

Narrative: Villalobos-Garcia was arrested by 20th District Officers on the 1400 block of W. Elmdale Ave on December 7, 2016 at approximately 6:05 a.m. after being identified as the offender in an armed robbery. On November 27, 2016 at approximately 6:05 p.m. a 21 year-old male was approached by Villalobos- Garcia on the 5800 block of N. Ridge Ave where Villalobos-Garcia pointed a handgun at the male and demanded the male’s money. The victim complied and Villalobos-Garcia fled.

Armed Robberies

015th District (Austin)

About the Crime:

This alert gives notice of two Armed Robberies that occurred within the boundaries

of the 015th District (Austin). There have been two Armed Robberies in which the

victims agreed to meet an unknown female subject via a social media website. Once

the victims arrived at the agreed upon location they were robbed at gunpoint by two

offenders.

Incident times and locations:

• 900 block of N. Parkside on November 28, 2016 at 9:30am.

• 900 block of N. Parkside on December 3, 2016 at 5:00am.

About the Offender:

There are two offenders, both are described as male blacks, unknown age,

approximately 5’8″ to 5’10” tall; one offender had a dreadlocks hairstyle.

What you can do:

• Be aware of this crime and alert your neighbors.

• Pay special attention to any suspicious people loitering in the area.

• Do not arrange to meet with strangers through social media websites.

• Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of the offender(s)

including any vehicle description and license plate information.

Offender: Jeffery Randle, 33 – 1000 N block of N. Harding Ave.

Charges: One Felony Count of Robbery – Armed – Discharge Firearm/Bodily Harm

One Felony Count of Aggravated Battery/Discharge Firearm

Narrative: Randle was placed into custody for the aggravated battery and robbery of a 58-year-old male, on November 13th, 2016 on the 3900 block of W. Cermak Rd., at approximately 9:30 p.m. The male victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the body during the commission of a robbery and was taken to Mt. Sinai hospital in serious condition. Randle was charged accordingly.

Armed Robbery

006th District (Gresham)

About This Crime:

This alert gives notice to citizens of the 006th District of a recent Armed Robbery

incident that occurred. Two male subjects approached the UPS driver while armed with

a handgun. The offenders took personal items and money from the UPS driver by force,

then removed several undelivered packages from the truck before fleeing on foot.

Locations of Occurrence:

8500 Block of South Prairie on November 30, 2016 at approximately 8:56 p.m.

About The Offender:

Offender #1- male black, medium complexion, 5’06”-5’08”, 23-27 yoa, 140-150 lbs.

Offender #2 -male black, medium complexion, 5’0″9-5’11”, 23-27 yoa, 160-170lbs.

What You Can Do:

Always be aware of your surroundings

Report suspicious activity immediately

If you are confronted by an assailant, remain calm

Remember any unique physical characteristics

Never pursue a fleeing assailant, provide information to the police
