Offender Charged with Multiple Felonies, Including Attempted Murder of a Chicago Police Officer

4900 Block of West Concord Place

Chicago, IL

 

Charges:       One Felony Count of Receive or Possession of a stolen vehicle

One Felony Count of Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer

One Felony Count of Aggravated Fleeing from the police/21 MPH

One Felony Count of Aggravated UUW/ Loaded no FOID CARD

One count of Attempt Murder

 

Court:            Case will be presented in Central Bond Court at 26th & California

May 26, 2017

 

Narrative:      The offender was charged with multiple felonies, including attempted murder of a Chicago Police Officer, after the offender crashed his vehicle into a Chicago Police Officer on the 1600 block of North LeClaire. The offender pinned the Police Officer between two vehicles, causing serious injuries to the Officer. The case against this offender will be presented in Central Bond Court today. No further information is available at this time.

This alert gives notice in the 012th District (Near West) of robbery incidents which have occurred during the month of May. In these incidents, the offender approaches a victim, displays or implies a handgun, demands/takes property and flees on foot. The incidents are listed below:

1300 Block of South Morgan Street on May 20, 2017 between 9:30-10:00 PM.
1300 Block of South Morgan Street on May 22, 2017 at 9:50 PM.
1400 Block of South Morgan Street on May 24, 2017 at 7:25 PM.

About the Offenders:

Offender is described as a Male black between 16-30 years of age, 5’06”-6’03”, 140-170lbs, short black hairstyle, red or black hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans
What you can do:
• Always be aware of your surroundings
• Report suspicious activity immediately
• If you are confronted by an assailant remain calm
• Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, limp, acne, teeth, etc…)
• Never pursue a fleeing assailant, provide the information to the police
• If video surveillance equipment is present, please save a copy of the incident for investigating detectives
• If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information
• Dial 9-1-1 immediately and remain on scene when possible

About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to residents of the 18th (Near North) District of several
reported armed robberies. In each of the incidents, the offenders approach the
victims, produce a handgun, and forcibly demand property from the victims. The
offenders threaten to shoot the victims if they don’t comply. The offenders were seen
fleeing in a silver vehicle during one incident. All of the incidents have occurred on
Beat 1812.
Incident times and locations:
• 2300 block of North Halsted St., Monday, May 22, 2017 between 10:15-10:30pm.
• 600 block of West Webster Ave., Monday, May 22, 2017 at 10:15pm.
• 700 block of West Dickens Ave., Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 3:35pm.
• 600 block of West Webster Ave., Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 10:22pm.
• 500 block of West Belden Ave., Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 10:48pm.
• 500 block of West Fullerton Pkwy., Tuesday May 23, 2017 at 10:56pm
About the Offenders:
4 male, African Americans, described as 17-20 years of age, with heights ranging
from 5’02”-6’04”, and weighing 160-185lbs.

• If confronted by an assailant, remain calm.
• Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, tattoos, acne, limps, etc).
• Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of any suspicious people

About This Crime
On Monday May 22, 2017, at approximately 7:35 A.M., a 13 year old female juvenile was
walking on the 4000 Block of West Jackson Street when a male black in a vehicle, called to her.
As she continued walking he stated, “hey I’m trying to holler at you, get in the car and I will take
you where you need to go”. The unknown offender continued to follow her and stepped out of
the vehicle and approached the victim. The victim, in fear, ran off to school where she alerted
the staff. The victim related that she observed the same vehicle again on May 23, 2017 at the
same location and time.
About The Offender
• The offender was described as a male black, approximately 30-40 years of age, 5’08” to
5’10”, 160-180 pounds, with dreadlock hair and a brown complexion. The victim could
not provide a clothing description.
• Driving a Blue colored, 4 door SUV.
What You Can Do
• Be aware of this situation and alert your neighbors.
• Call 911 to report any suspicious persons, vehicles or activity in your neighborhood.
• Do not let children walk alone. Identify safe havens along your child’s route to school,
such as businesses or trusted neighbors.
• Find out how to start a Parent Patrol or Walking School Bus Program at your child’s

22 May 17 Attempt Child Luring Comm Alert 8th District JA274691On Monday, May 22, 2017, at approximately 3:25 p.m. in the 2500 block of W. 59th St., an unknown offender attempted to lure a 12yr old female. The victim had just been dismissed from Morrill School located at 6011 S Rockwell and was walking to an ex-neighbor’s house located in the 5800 block of S. Artesian, when the offender approached her on the sidewalk and stated “You are cute.  Do you want to go to the store and buy something.”  The victim continued past the offender, to the neighbor’s house and knocked on the door for several minutes, but nobody was home.  The victim, who was standing on the porch, noticed the same offender standing on the corner of 58th St and Artesian watching her.  Offender fled in an unknown direction.

21 May 17 – Community Alert-Child Luring 16th DistOn May 21, 2017, at approximately 5:20 p.m., the 6-year-old female juvenile was running southbound on the 5400 block of N. Neenah Ave when she noticed a silver or gray 4-door sedan vehicle with a male white driver pull up to her.  The unknown offender stated to the minor,” Are you ok? Do you want some candy? Come to the car and get in.”  The unknown offender became aware of the minor’s brother’s presence and fled from the location eastbound.  The minor was able to flee to her home in company of her two brothers, and alert her mother who called 911.
