Residential Garage Burglaries
25th District (Grand Central)
About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to the residents of the 25th District (Grand Central) of garage
burglaries that have occurred on Beat 2521. In these incidents, unknown offender/offenders
have entered the garage side/service door, and have removed miscellaneous property from
the garage.
Incident times and locations:
• 4800 block of West Diversey, on July 15, 2017 at 7:53pm
• 5000 block of West Fletcher on July 26, 2017 between 9:30am and 10:10am
• 2900 block of North Kilpatrick on July 31, 2017 between 8:30am and 11:00am
About the offenders
In one of these incidents a witness observed two unknown males (possibly Hispanic)
running with bags from their garage.
What you can do:
• Be aware of this pattern crime and alert your friends and family about these crimes.
• Make sure all doors and windows are locked.
• Make sure any alarm systems of security cameras are activated and working properly.
• Pay special attention to any suspicious subjects loitering in the area.
• Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of the offender(s), including any
vehicle description and license plate information, as well as direction of flight, if known.

Seeking to Identify – Wanted for Aggravated Battery
019th District (Townhall)
About The Crimes
On July 8, 2017 at 05:03 A.M., an unknown male Asian was involved in an aggravated battery at
the Sheridan Redline Station on the 3900 block of North Sheridan Ave. A 49 year-old male was
knocked down a flight of stairs. The offender followed the victim and repeatedly kicked the
victim in his head. The Victim suffered a broken orbital socket and broken pelvis, along with
multiple bruises and abrasions. The offender boarded at Thorndale and exited at Sheridan.
About The Offender
• The subject is described as Male “Philipino”, 25-35 years, 5’03-5’07/130-160lbs Brown short
parted hair and Olive complexions.
• The offender was wearing a white polo shirt with a dark stripe on the collar, dark pants and
gray shoes.

016th District (Jefferson Park)
About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to the residents of the 16th District (Jefferson Park) of several
residential burglaries that occurred in the month of July. In these incidents, unknown
offender(s) entered apartments and residences, through doors and windows. The
offender(s) removed electronics, jewelry, cash, and other miscellaneous items.
Incident times and locations:
There have been several incidents that have occurred since July 13, 2017. These incidents
have taken place within the following listed locations mostly during the day and early
evening hours.
5500 block of W. Edmonds on July 13, 2017 at 7:00 PM
4300 block of N. Monitor on July 16, 2017 at 2:10 AM
4800 block of N. Central on July 21, 2017 at 9:30 PM
5400 block of N. Lynch on July 25, 2017 at 12:45 PM
5000 block of N. Major on July 25, 2017 between 1:00 PM – 5:30 PM
5600 block of W. Leland on July 26, 2017 at 6:00 PM

This alert gives notice to the residents in the 16th District (Jefferson Park) of several garage burglaries that have occurred in the month of July. In these incidents, unknown offender(s) gain entry by forcibly kicking or prying open the overhead or side door. Offender(s) also gain entry through unlocked doors. Offender(s) then take construction tools, bicycles and vehicle wheels.
Incident Times and Locations:
There have been several incidents that have occurred since July 17, 2017. These incidents have taken place at the following locations listed, mostly during the evening and overnight hours.
•4800 block of W. Strong on July 17-18, 2017 between 6:30 p.m. – 5:15 a.m.
•4800 block of W. Berteau on July 20, 2017 between 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
• 7000 block of N. Mason on July 20-22, 2017 between 1:00 a.m. – 4:25 p.m.
•4800 block of W. Ainslie on July 26-27, 2017 between 6:00 p.m. – 12:15 p.m.
•5400 block of N. Nagle on July 29, 2017 between 12:01 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

This alert gives notice of recent overnight burglaries to retail establishments in the 16th District. Unknown offender(s) gain entry to the premises by forcibly kicking or prying open the front or rear door. Offender(s) also gain entry by breaking the front windows of the businesses.

•6000 block of W. Belmont on July 12, 2017 at 5:18 a.m.
•4200 block of N. Milwaukee on July 14, 2017 between 9:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
•5600 block of N. Cumberland on July 21, 2017 at 3:44 a.m.
•5100 block of W. Belmont on July 23, 2017 between 4:35 a.m. – 4:40 a.m.
•8100 block of W. Higgins on July 26, 2017 between 5:50 p.m. – 11:14 p.m.

The Offender hails a cab to an address near 3900 W Congress or 3800 W Jackson. When the cab reached the drop-off point, Offender robbed Victim (cab driver) of USC by force or Offender implied he has a handgun then robbed Victim. Offender then fled on foot form the scene. Incident times and locations are listed below:
•4000 block of W. Congress on July 16, 2017 at 5:19 A.M.
•3800 block of W. Jackson on July 16, 2017 at 10:20 P.M.
•3700 block of W. Congress on July 24, 2017 at 11:30 A.M.
•3200 block of W Congress on July 25, 2017 at 05:45 A.M.
•400 block of S. Hamlin on July 27, 2017 at 06:40 A.M.

About the Crime:
On July 28, 2017 at 3:27 a.m., a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle while walking in the street in the 3500 block W. Congress Parkway. The 42-year-old man was struck by an unknown vehicle matching the description below.
About the Vehicle:
Dark gray in color – possibly a BMW 325/330
The vehicle sustained damage to the left side and front end.
The vehicle was last seen traveling westbound on Congress Parkway from St. Louis Avenue
