This alert addresses Armed Robberies that have occurred in the 011th District. In both robberies, the victims are robbed at gunpoint on the street after exiting the CTA Greenline.

Incident times and locations:

  • 200 block of N. Kedzie on March 24, 2015 at 1:20 am.
  • 200 block of N. Central Park on March 25, 2015 at 8:30 pm.

 Offender’s description:

  • One offender is described as being a male black, unknown age, 5’6″ – 5’8″ tall, approximately 180 -190 lbs, wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, and a mask covering his face.
  • The other offenders are (3) unknown male blacks.

This alert addresses several residential burglaries that have occurred in the 011th District. The unknown offender(s) enter apartments either through the front or rear door. They enter unlawfully or by use of force.

Incident times and locations:

  • 1000 block of N. Avers on March 25/26, 2015 between 12:50 p.m. – 2:15 a.m.
  • 1000 block of N. Kedvale on March 27, 2015 between 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
  • 700 block of N. Avers on April 3, 2015 between 4:00p.m. – 10:30 p.m.

Escapee Kamron Taylor was taken into custody by Chicago Police in the 9200 block of S. Harper Ave.  On April 3, 2015, at approximately 9:00 pm, 004th District officers responded to a call of a suspicious person, as the officers approached, Taylor fled on foot. Officers apprehended him a short distance away and recovered a loaded .38 caliber revolver.  Taylor has been charged accordingly and will be turned over to the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Department at a later time to face local charges.  Any further information relating to this matter should be directed to the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Dept at 815.802.7255.

Chicago Police narcotics officers were able to intercept a shipment of narcotics that was being shipped into Chicago. From that delivery location, officers recovered a large quantity of narcotics, firearms, and over $95,000 in cash.

Narcotics Division officers conducted an investigation of a suspicious package that was received at a local shipping facility. A search warrant was executed on that package and it was found it to contain 614 grams of cannabis. The Package Team conducted a controlled delivery of that package to a recipient in the 2200 block of S. Kildare Ave.

On March 19th, 2015 at approximately 4:50 p.m., officers executed a delivery warrant on that same address. Inside the location, officers recovered two assault rifles with 100 round magazines, three additional assault rifles with 30 round magazines, one loaded 10mm auto pistol, one loaded 9mm auto pistol, one revolver, and a high power bolt action rifle with a scope. A large quantity of ammunition and two bullet proof vests were also discovered.

Also inside this residence was a large cache of narcotics that included 5,052 grams of powder cocaine, 557 grams of crack cocaine, 6,713 grams of tan heroin, 997 grams of black tar heroin and 726 grams of cannabis. The estimated street value of these narcotics total approximately $1,532,477.00. In addition, approximately $95,608.00 in cash was recovered.

Arrested during this incident was a 24 year old female – Lauren Henry, from the 2200 block of S. Kildare Ave.

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 14th District (Beat 1432) of a recent increase in residential burglaries, during the month of March. The unknown offender(s) gain entry through a rear door.

Incident times and locations:

  • 2000 block of W. Dickens on 12 March 15 between 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • 2000 block of N. Leavitt on 12 March 15 at 5:00 PM
  • 2000 block of N. Leavitt on 14 March 15 at 2:00 PM

The Chicago Police Football Team the “Enforcers” are entering their 10th season in the National Public Safety Football League, which is made up of twenty teams from all over the country. Head coach Greg Zaragoza welcomes several new and exciting players to the team. The Enforcers are made up primarily of sworn members of the Chicago Police Department, but also include players from the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, as well as other local agencies. The Chicago Police Enforcers are a recognized 501c3 organization and, over the course of nine seasons, have raised approximately $100,000 for various local charities. The NPSFL plays full contact football following NCAA rules.

The Enforcers’ season kicks-off Saturday, March 21st in San Diego and then continues in Cleveland on April 11th. The highlight of the season will be May 16th when the Enforcers take on the LAPD Centurions in a battle of two of the largest and proudest police departments in the country. The Enforcers will also host the Columbus Marauders in their annual Gold Star Game on Saturday May 2nd. The Gold Star Game commemorates and honors members of the Chicago Police Department who made the ultimate sacrifice. The Enforcers are coming off a successful 3-2 campaign in 2014 and are looking forward to making a run at another National Championship.
