Chicago Police Department and Centers for New Horizons Host Gun Turn-In Event

WHAT:  The Chicago Police Department, in collaboration with Centers for New Horizons, is hosting a Gun Turn-In Event. During this event, community members will receive a $100 gift card in exchange for every gun turned in and a $10 gift card for each BB-gun, air-gun, or replica firearm – No questions asked!

WHEN: SATURDAY, May 14, 2016    10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

WHERE:  Center for New Horizons-  226 E. 43rd St., Chicago, Illinois

WHO:  Chicago Police Department personnel, Center for New Horizons personnel, volunteers, and community members.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Interim Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson commemorated the graduation of 74 police recruits and 32 field training officers today in a ceremony at Navy Pier. Additionally, 36 lieutenants were promoted at today’s ceremony, as well as Fred Waller to Chief of Patrol and Kevin Navarro to Deputy Chief of Area South. For More Information Click Here

CHICAGO – Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Interim Chicago Police Superintendent John Escalante commemorated the graduation of 100 sergeants and 63 police recruits today in a ceremony at Navy Pier. An additional 22 police officers were promoted at today’s ceremony, including two chiefs and five deputy chiefs.
