About the Crime:

This alert gives notice to residents of the 20th District (Lincoln) of four Robberies occurring in the latter half of December 2014 and early January 2015. Three of the Robberies occurred late in the evening on the sidewalk. The other occurred at the CTA station. The offenders usually approach from different directions and knock down or beat down the victims and remove property from their person.

On March 17, 2013, at approximately 9:00 a.m., 31-year-old female was discovered deceased in a residence on the 1400 block of W. Cullerton Street. Shortly after the incident, Area Central Detectives identified Faramarz Bakhshi, as a “person of interest” but he had fled Illinois. Detectives diligently continued the investigation and were ultimately able to locate the offender in California. He was subsequently extradited and charged with the above offenses.

About the Crimes:

This alert gives notice to the residents of the 11th District (Harrison) of two Robberies that have occurred in the month of January. In both incidents, the victim was robbed in a parking lot. In one incident, the offenders used a handgun. In the other incident, the offender displayed an unknown hard object to the victim. In both incidents, the offenders took money from the victims.

The Chicago Police Department will be conducting a DUI Strike Force Patrol in the Calumet (5th) District. The DUI Strike Force Patrol will commence at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10th, 2015 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 11th, 2015.

The purpose of this program is to saturate a pre-designated area with roving police officers that continually monitor vehicular traffic for signs of impaired driving. Patrols also place emphasis on speed, alcohol-related and safety belt violations. Police vehicles equipped for speed detection are deployed to apprehend speeding violators.

Andre Brown was arrested after he was identified as the man who fatally stabbed a 54 year old female on January 5, 2015, in the 3500 block of W. 77th Place at approximately 9:45 p.m. The victim was stabbed in the chest and the neck in a domestic related altercation. She was pronounced on the scene. Brown was charged accordingly.

About the Crime:

On 5 January 2015, at approximately 8:45 PM, a 13 year old female was walking home from a friend’s house in the 3700 block of west Ainslie when an adult male offender approached her from behind. The offender uttered unknown words to her in Spanish and grabbed the victim’s buttocks. The victim began to scream and the offender fled through a nearby gangway.

The 007th District partnered with “Blessed Child Organization” this past weekend for their annual Toy Drive. Santa Claus, along with volunteers from Girl Scout Troop #27097, helped to pass out gifts and spread some holiday cheer to the children of Englewood and their families.

The 010th District celebrated the holidays with their Annual Christmas party for children living in shelters that are located within the District. Enlace, The Flisk Family Foundation and 010th District Officers participated with generous gifts, food and entertainment for a successful event for all involved.
