About the Crime:

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 025th District of robbery related incidents that have occurred during the late morning/ early evening hours. In these incidents, two offenders approach the victims; demand their property, and forcibly take items from victims. In one incident, the offenders imply they have a gun.

About the Crime:

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 015th District (Austin) of an increase in robbery related incidents that have occurred during the month of January. In these incidents, unknown male offender(s), armed with a handgun, either approach victim(s) on foot or exit out of a vehicle and rob victim of their property. Offenders then flee in the awaiting vehicle. Vehicles used consist of: Maroon Mini-Van; Blue Ford Windstar van; Light green 4 door Mitsubishi; green 4 door Oldsmobile.

About the Crime:

This alert gives notice to the residents of the 14th District (Shakespeare) of two Strong Arm Robberies that have occurred in the month of January. In both of these robberies, the female victim was approached from behind and engaged in conversation by an unknown male offender, after which the offender took various personal items from the victim. In the first incident, the offender struck the female victim in the face during the course of the robbery.

The offenders then demand property, and forcibly take property from the victims by reaching into their pockets. In two incidents the offender(s) were armed with a knife.

Joshua King was arrested after he was identified as the person who shot a 22 year old female on October 27, 2014 at approximately 9:40 a.m. in the 7600 block of S. Coles. The victim was taken to Trinity Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg where she was treated and released. King was charged accordingly. King appeared in bond court on January 30, 2015.

The above offender was arrested and charged after he was observed by Austin (015th) District officers on the roof of a business in the 5300 block of W. Harrison St. on January 30, 2015, at approximately 4:05 am. As the officers approached, the offender threatened to shoot the officers. The offender was subsequently taken into custody and charged accordingly. There were no reported injuries to officers and there was no weapon recovered. Further investigation revealed the offender had burglarized the store of numerous items, which were recovered.

The above offender were arrested and charged after over $6 million dollars worth of cocaine was found in his possession on January 30, 2015, at approximately 2:30 pm. Chicago Police Narcotics Division officers were conducting a narcotics related
investigation involving the above offender when the offender was observed placing two heavy suitcases into his vehicle. As the offender drove off, his vehicle was stopped by police after the offender committed a traffic violation in the 1500 block of N. Kedvale. The offender could not produce a driver’s license and was placed into custody. Further investigation revealed the contents of the suitcases to contain 90 brick shaped objects containing cocaine. The estimated weight of the narcotics was 54,000 grams and has an estimated street value of $6.75 million dollars.

Christopher Cage was arrested after he was identified as the man who fatally shot a 24 year old male and wounded a 39 year old male on January 29, 2015, in the 11900 block of S. Yale Ave at approximately 2:05a.m. The 24 year old male was pronounced on scene with a gun shot wound to the head while the 39 year old male was transported to Christ Hospital in critical condition with a gun shot wound to the chest. Cage was charged accordingly.
