About the crime:
This alert gives notice to the residents of the 11th District (Harrison) of two Robberies that have occurred in the month of May. In both incidents, the victims were standing at a CTA bus stop and a gray mini-van pulled up to the bus stop. In both of these Robberies, the offenders then exited the mini-van and used force to take property from the victims. The offenders took a watch, a purse and money from the victims.
About the crime:
Two garbage receptacle fires occurred on Beat 1723. Person unknown appear to have ignited available materials inside the receptacles with an open flame. On one occasion the fire communicated to a coach house and caused severe injury to a 4 year old male resident.
Jeremy O’Neal was arrested and charged after he was identified as the offender who threw a piece of concrete through the window of a residence on the 1400 block of W. 73rd Pl. which struck a 7-month-old female in the head on May 3, 2015, at approximately 8:25 p.m. during a domestic dispute. 15May15 Charges for Jeremy O’Neal
Brown and the two juvenile offenders were placed in custody after being identified in connection to a vehicular hijacking that occurred on the 1800 block of N. Clybourn Ave. on May 13, 2015, at approximately 11:10 p.m. The offenders approached a male victim as he entered his vehicle and demanded he get out while implying a weapon. The offenders then fled in the vehicle, at which time responding officers observed the stolen vehicle and a traffic pursuit ensued to the 1900 block of W. The Chicago Police Department will be conducting DUI Strike Force Patrols in the Calumet (5th) and Ogden (10th) Districts this weekend. The DUI Strike Force Patrol in the Calumet (5th) District will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15th, 2015 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16th, 2015. The DUI Strike Force Patrol will commence in the Ogden (10th) District at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16th, 2015 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 17th, 2015.

Robberies have occurred in the 024th District during which one or two offender(s) approach the victims on the public way in the early morning hours and display a silver hand gun while verbally demanding that the victims give them everything they have. This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 002nd District (Wentworth) of burglary related incidents during the month of April & May. In these incidents, offender(s) make entry into apartments and take property from therein. 11May15 002 Dist-Burglaries-P15-1-106CA
Ronald Sparks was arrested on May 11, 2015 at approximately 1:45 a.m. in the 800 block of N. State Street. An Action K9 Security Agent observed Sparks smoking inside a CTA rail car. The agent observed that Sparks also matched the description of a wanted criminal sexual assault offender from May 10, 2015 at 5:00 a.m. Sparks was detained until Chicago Police arrived. Sparks was identified as the offender who attacked a 27 year old female CTA passenger on a southbound Red Line train. Sparks was arrested and charged accordingly. No further information is available at this time.
This alert gives notice to the Business Owners of the 20th District (Lincoln) of several recent commercial burglaries that have occurred. In these incidents, unknown offender(s) have entered business through doors or windows by force using a pry tool or blunt object. Items taken include cash, cash registers, cigarettes, batteries and other miscellaneous items.
Incident times and locations:
There have been nine incidents that have occurred since April 1, 2015. These incidents have taken place, within the boundaries of Sheridan to Clark and Gunnison to Peterson, during the late PM hours to the early AM hours.
