Marcus Jones was arrested on May 7th, 2015 at approximately 1:37 a.m. in the 1500 Block of W. Morse Ave. Officers responded to a burglary in progress call and located Marcus Jones inside. Jones had a shopping cart filled with various pieces of office equipment and was in possession of a pry bar. Jones was arrested and charged accordingly. Further investigation by Area North Detectives revealed Marcus Jones to be the man wanted in connection with several condominium burglaries in the area. A Community Alert with his photo was sent out on April 29, 2015. Jones has been charged accordingly in several of these incidents. Detectives continue to investigate other possible victims. Marcus Jones appeared in Central Bond Court on May 8, 2015. No further information is available at this time.
ROADSIDE SAFETY CHECK –NEAR NORTH (18TH) DISTRICT
The Chicago Police Department will conduct a Roadside Safety Check in the Near North (18th) District at 6401 S. Ashland Ave. The Roadside Safety Check will commence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 8th, 2015 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 9th, 2015.

The Chicago Police Department will be conducting a DUI Strike Force Patrol in the Deering (9th) District this weekend. The DUI Strike Force Patrol will commence at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9th, 2015 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 10th, 2015.

About the Crime:
On May 06, 2015 at approximately 7:00 AM, an unknown male White Hispanic grabbed a female jogging eastbound on the 3900 block of west 71st Street in the Marquette Park area. The unknown male fled westbound on 71st Street. toward Pulaski after the incident.

Chicago Man Charged in Fatal Domestic Stabbing
Jerome Jackson was arrested and charged in connection to a stabbing incident which occurred on the 6200 block of N. Bell Avenue on May 5, 2015 at approximately 4:20 p.m. James became involved in a domestic dispute with his 53-year-old mother during which he fatally stabbed her.
Robberies 003rd (Grand Crossing) District
About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 003rd District (Grand Crossing) of an increase in robbery related incidents that have occurred during the month of April/May on Beat 311.
The Offender approaches the victims, throws them to the ground and takes their property. Detectives are seeking information from anyone with knowledge of these offenders.
Wanted for Attempt Criminal Sexual Assault/Strong Arm Robbery 012th District
About the Crime:
On May 5, 2015 at approximately 11:35 p.m., in the 500 block of N. Marshfield, an unknown male grabbed a 29-year-old female and led her into an alley. Next, he forcibly took her iPhone and attempted to sexually assault her. At this time, the victim began to yell out for help and the offender fled the scene east bound across Ashland Avenue. Citizens hearing the victim’s cries for help called 911.
Two Offenders Charged in Aggravated Battery of a Child
Olivera and Gonzalez were identified by the victim as the offenders yelling gang slogans and throwing objects at his vehicle located on the 2600 block of South Kedzie. The victim’s children, 4 years of age and 8 months, were seated inside the vehicle. One of the offenders threw a fire hydrant cap striking and breaking a window of the vehicle, causing minor injuries to both children. The offenders were placed in custody and transported to the 010th district for processing.
Juvenile Charged in Aggravated Battery of 12 year old
A male juvenile was placed in custody after being identified in connection to an aggravated battery that occurred on the 5900 block of W. North Ave. on April 29, 2015 at approximately 6:15 p.m. The 12 year old victim was walking when he heard gunshots and realized he had been struck. During the incident the victim sustained a gun shot wound to the back and underarm. The victim was taken to West Suburban hospital and later transferred to Stroger Hospital in serious condition. The juvenile offender was charged accordingly.
Two Offenders Charged in Shooting of an Off- Duty Officer
McNeal and a 17 year old Male Juvenile were arrested and charged after being identified as the two offenders responsible for participating in the armed robbery of an off-duty Oak Park police officer on the 300 block of W 103rd Pl, at approx. 5:13 am on May 03, 2015. The victim was at his garage getting ready to go to work when the (2) offenders approached on foot, and one of the offenders produced a handgun. The second offender began to search the victim at which point the victim drew his weapon and exchanged gunfire with the armed subject. Victim was struck in the forearm and lower leg and taken to Christ Hospital where he was listed in stable condition. The offenders were found in a gangway several blocks away by responding officers, and the juvenile had sustained multiple GSWs. Both subjects fit the physical description of the offenders from the shooting and were placed into custody. The juvenile was taken to Christ Hospital for medical treatment and MCNEAL was transported to Area South for processing.
