Officers responded to a call of “shots fired” on July 27, 2015, at approximately 10:30 p.m. and observed a minivan travelling erratically southbound on Kedzie Ave. An occupant of the minivan then fired shots at another vehicle before becoming involved in a traffic crash on the 5900 block of S. Western. The above four offenders were then placed in custody by responding officers and the offenders were identified as the subjects who approached a 28 year old male, produced a handgun, and announced a robbery on the 3200 block of W. Rasheed Martin, 20 was arrested in Wisconsin and extradited to Chicago after he was identified as the man who shot two people on July 4, 2015 at approximately 11:50 p.m. in the 1100 block of N. Harding. The victims were standing on the sidewalk when Martin fired shots. A 26 year old female was taken to Stroger Hospital in fair condition with a gunshot wound to the chest. A 7 year old male was shot in the chest and taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition where he was later pronounced. Martin was charged accordingly. No further information is available at this time.

On July 24, 2015, at approximately 1:15pm, the offender, Solonia Anderson, while on a supervised visitation with her son/victim, Beyoun Collins, at the Greenebaum Playlot Park, located at 4300 W. Wabansia Ave., fled with Beyoun, to whereabouts unknown. Anderson does not have lawful custody of the victim.

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in District 019 of recent robberies that
occurred on July 19th, 20th, and 25th. In these incidents, offenders approached the
victims on the street and used force to rob them. In two of the incidents, the
offenders engaged the victims in conversation and then committed the robberies.

Charges for Jose Garcia Jr

Garcia was arrested and charged after he was positively identified as the offender who unlawfully entered a home on July 23, 2015 at 4:00 a.m. in the 3000 block of West 56th Street.  A resident of the home, a 16- year- old girl, was sleeping on the couch when the offender exposed himself to the victim, and fled the scene. Responding officers captured the offender who was identified shortly afterward. Victim was treated and released from Holy Cross Hospital.

This alert gives notice to businesses operating in the 014th, 017th, 018th and 019th districts, of Armed Robberies of a small retail stores in those districts. Anywhere from one to three offenders enter the small retail stores and announce a robbery while armed with
handguns.
