This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 008th District (Chicago Lawn) of burglary incidents which have occurred during the month of August. In these incidents, offender(s) have gained entry into a residence and/or garage through a side or rear door and have taken property from therein.
Community Alert – Wanted for Attempt Child Luring 025th District (Grand/Central)
On Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at approximately 3:45 p.m. a 13-year-old male juvenile was walking south on the 2100 block of North Lawndale Avenue when a male Hispanic driving a white colored 4-door vehicle approached and asked for directions. The victim was unable to assist and the offender offered him money. The offender then proceeded to open the car door to exit the vehicle. The victim in fear for his safety fled the scene.

Community Alert – Robberies – 014th District Shakespeare
Robberies in which a group of several offenders rob their victims (sometimes showing a firearm) are occurring in the 014th District. The offenders are a group of four men, one male white Hispanic and three male blacks, who approach the victim, ask if he “gang-bangs,” then, in one of the instances, robs him at gunpoint. In one case, the offenders placed a hand over the victim’s mouth and demanded his cell phone before fleeing.

Offender Charged with Aggravated Assault of Police Officer
On August 16, 2015 at approximately 4:17 a.m., Ogden (10th) District officers responded to a call of a burglary-in-progress on the 1900 block of S. Trumbull. Upon arrival, officers observed a subject matching the description of the offender. Officers gave the subject verbal direction and he refused to comply. The offender then moved to the corner of the porch area, where he produced a handgun that he pointed in the direction of police. Officers were able to gain control of the weapon and the offender. The offender was charged accordingly, and is expected to appear in Central Bond Court today. No further details are available at this time.

Community Alert – Armed Robberies
Armed Robberies in which several offenders rob their victims at gunpoint have occurred in the 014th District (Shakespeare). The offenders exit a small red or dark-colored sedan, brandish handguns, and announce a robbery, demanding cell phones and pass codes for the cell phones. The offenders flee in the same red sedan, described as possibly being a Toyota or a Honda.
Male Juvenile Charged as Adult with First Degree Murder
A 17 year old male juvenile offender was arrested and charged with first degree murder. The incident occurred in the 4600 block of South Western Ave on August 13th, 2015. The victim was riding in a vehicle when the offender approached on foot and fired shots. The victim was wounded fatally. The offender is being charged as an adult, and is expected to appear in Central Bond Court tomorrow. No further details are available at this time.
