This alert gives notice to citizens of the 006th District (Gresham) of robberies involving victims who are lured to locations through the use of social media. In each of these incidents, the victims made contact with a female utilizing the website skout.com where they would make plans to meet. Upon arriving at the designated location, the victims discovered the female offender was not alone, but rather in the company of several other males. These male offenders in turn proceeded to beat and rob the victims of their valuables.

This alert gives notice to residents of the 007th District (Englewood) of an increase in robberies in the month of August on Beat 731. Two of the mentioned armed robberies have involved restaurant delivery drivers and have taken place on the 7000 block of South Perry Avenue.

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 001st (Central) District of robbery related incidents during the month of August. An unknown male black offender has approached three females during two separate incidents, displaying a silver handgun, and demanding or physically taking their purses.

This alert gives notice to citizens utilizing CTA trains of an increase in robbery related incidents during the month of August. An unknown male black offender is identifying female passengers who are wearing valuable necklaces. As the train approaches a stop, the offender rips the necklace from the victim’s neck and flees on foot through the opening doors.

Christopher Kirby was arrested after he was identified as the man who shot two people on July 19, 2015 at approximately 3:05 a.m. in the 9100 block of S. Ashland Ave. Kirby approached the victims on foot and fired shots in their direction. A 25 year old man sustained a gunshot wound to the face and buttock and a 30 year old female sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. Both victims were taken to Christ in serious condition for treatment. Kirby was charged accordingly.

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 003rd District (Grand Crossing) of an increase in robbery related incidents during the month of August on Beat 312. During these incidents, multiple offenders have approached the victim(s), brandished a weapon (pocket knife or unknown metal object), and after a struggle, taken property before fleeing the area.
