Armani Bearden was arrested in connection with the murder of a 64-year-old man. This incident occurred on the 6500 block of N. About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to businesses residing in the 15th District (Austin) of Robbery related incidents that have occurred during the month of February. In these incidents, an unknown male offender enters the store and grabs money out of the cash register. In each incident offender threatened or battered the victim with a knife
or screwdriver.
Incident times and locations are listed below:
• 5500 block of West Division on February 7, 2016 at 6:10 P.M.
• 5500 block of West Division on February 18, 2016 at 12:42 P.M.
About the Offenders:
• Unknown male African American, 40-50 years of age armed with a knife or
screwdriver

24 Feb 16 Wanted for Attempt Child Luring _HZ 161390_

About This Crime

On February 22, 2016 at approximately 5:10pm, two female juvenile victims were walking on the 5200 block of west Agatite Ave. The victims observed a vehicle park behind them, at which time the vehicle’s sole occupant exited and began to chase the victims a short distance on Agatite Ave. In fear for their safety the victims fled the area and immediately reported the incident to their parents.

About the Offender and Vehicle

The driver of the vehicle was described as a male white Hispanic, approximately 30 to 35 years of age, 5’08” to 5’10”, thin build with a short beard and wearing an orange knit hat, green winter coat, and blue jeans. The vehicle is an older, clean, green minivan with tinted windows, unknown make or model.

. Call 911 to report any suspicious persons or activity

. Walk in pairs

. Don’t talk to strangers or approach strange vehicles

. Be aware of your surroundings travel in well lit and populated areas

About the Crime:

This alert gives notice to Business owners who operate commercial establishments in the 19th District (Area North). Burglary related incidents have occurred during the months of January and February. In these incidents, an offender(s) used force to enter retail stores and remove property. Incident times and locations are listed below:

4000 Block of N. Lincoln Av. on January 26, 2016 at approximately 03:30 A.M.

1200 Block of W. Belmont Av. on February 23, 2016 at approximately 01:40 A.M.

About the Offenders:

In the incident on Lincoln Ave., the offender is described as a black male, 25-30 years of age, 5’08”-5’09”, 250lbs.

In the incident of Belmont Ave., the offender is described as a black male, 35-45 years of age, 6’02”, 220lbs.

What you can do:

Always ensure doors and windows are locked and secured, and alarms activated.

Report suspicious activity immediately

If you are confronted by an assailant remain calm

Remember any unique physical characteristics (ie., scars, limp, acne, teeth)

About This Crime:

This alert gives notice to residents of the South Shore (4th) District of two armed robberies involving similar circumstances. In each incident, the offender(s) approached the victim and proceeded to ask a series of questions. During the course of this dialogue, the offender either displayed a firearm or implied he was armed and threatened to shoot the victim.

About The Offenders:

The offender(s) were described as:

A male black believed to be 18 to 20 years of age, approximately 5’07” to 5’09” with dreadlocks or braids.

Safety Tips:

Attempt to be cognizant of your surroundings and attempt to walk in well lit areas or in the company of others.

If confronted by the armed offender, attempt to remain calm.Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of any suspicious people including any vehicle description and license plate information.

24 Feb 16 Thefts 22nd District _#P16-2-016_

About This Crime

On February 20th, 2016, there were multiple thefts of catalytic converters from vehicles located in the Mount Greenwood & Morgan Park neighborhoods. The time of thefts was between 3:00am and 6:30am.

About The Offenders

Residential surveillance shows two male subjects exit a light colored 4 door sedan. The passenger crawls under the car to cut off the converter. The driver exits the car and stands watch, then takes the converter from his accomplice and puts it in the trunk before

driving away.

Safety Tips:

Offenders double park their car keeping it running during the thefts. Be on the lookout for suspicious activity of this type during the early morning hours.

Offenders use a handheld power saw, look outside if you hear any cutting tools in the early morning hours, and notify police if suspicious activity exists.

Be aware of this situation and alert neighbors in the area about this crime.  Pay special attention to any subjects loitering in the area.Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of any suspicious people including any vehicle description and license plate information.
