DUI STRIKE FORCE PATROL – Englewood (007th) DISTRICT

The Chicago Police Department will be conducting a DUI Strike Force Patrol in the Englewood

(007th) District this weekend. The DUI Strike Force Patrol will commence at 7:00 p.m. on

Saturday, November 12, 2016 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2016.

The purpose of this program is to saturate a pre-designated area with roving police officers

that continually monitor vehicular traffic for signs of impaired driving. Patrols also place

emphasis on speed, alcohol-related and safety belt violations. Police vehicles equipped for

speed detection are deployed to apprehend speeding violators.

In addition, the Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) Mobile Unit may also be deployed to allow

officers to expedite the process of charging a person with Driving under the Influence (DUI)

prior to transporting an alleged into the nearest lockup for bonding. The mobile unit also allows

for Individual Recognizance Bonds (I-Bonds) to be issued at the site of the DUI Strike Force

Patrol.

The Chicago Police Department will be conducting a DUI Strike Force Patrol in the Gresham

(006th) District on Friday November 11, 2016. The DUI Strike Force Patrol will commence at

7:00 p.m. on Friday November 11, 2016 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12,

2016.

The purpose of this program is to saturate a pre-designated area with roving police officers

resulted in the following:

Vega was placed into custody for the murder of a 1-year-old female who was found unresponsive in his care on November 8, 2016 on the 4700 block of S. Honore at approximately 11:22 a.m.  The investigation revealed that the victim died due to blunt force trauma caused by Vega.

This alert gives notice of two Armed Robberies that have occurred in the 11th District on Beat 1114. In both incidents, the victims utilized a cell phone App to arrange to meet individuals for the purpose of buying a cell phone. Upon arrival, the offenders entered the victims’ vehicles, displayed a handgun and took property from the victims including phones, money and a laptop computer. For More Information Click Here
