This alert gives notice of two recent Attempt Robbery incidents that have occurred in April in the 17th District. In each incident, the victims were walking when the offenders pulled up in a vehicle and demanded money from the victims. In the most recent incident on April 9th, the offenders implied that they were armed with a firearm. In both incidents, the offenders fled the scene without taking any property from the victims. About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to three recent Strong Armed Robberies that occurred within
the boundaries of the 014th District (Shakespeare). In these Strong Armed
Robberies, multiple offenders robbed the victims while they are walking on the
sidewalk. The offenders demanded the victim’s property, then hit and kicked the
victims while taking the victim’s property.
Incident times and locations:
• 1300 block of N. Hoyne on April 1, 2017 at 3:00am.
• 2000 block of W. Shakespeare on April 1, 2017 at 3:10am.
• 1900 block of N. Wilmot on April 1, 2017 at 4:10am.
About the Offender:
There are multiple offenders in each robbery. The offenders are described as being
Black males, 18 to 25 years of age, unknown height and weight. One of the
offenders was wearing a multi-colored jacket or sweatshirt.
What you can do:
• Be aware of this crime and alert your neighbors.
• Pay special attention to any suspicious people loitering in the area.
• Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of the offender(s)
including any vehicle description and license plate information.

About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to the citizens in the 8th District (Chicago Lawn) of robbery
incidents that occurred during the months of March and April. In these incidents,
the offender approached the victim and demanded property. Incident times and
locations are listed below:
• 6300 Block of S. Fairfield Ave on March 15, 2017 at approximately10:23 P.M.
• 6400 Block of S. California Ave on April 04, 2017 at approximately 12:15 P.M.
About the Offenders:
(1) Male, Black, 20-30 years of age, 5’05 to 5’08, 140 to 150 lbs
What you can do:
• Always be aware of your surroundings
• Report suspicious activity immediately
• If you are confronted by an assailant remain calm
• Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, limp, acne, teeth,
etc…)
• Never pursue a fleeing assailant, provide the information to the police
• If video surveillance equipment is present, please save a copy of the incident
for investigating detectives
• If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information
• Dial 9-1-1 immediately and remain on scene when possible

• 5500 Block of S. Christiana Ave on April 4, 2017 at approximately 10:29 P.M.
About the Offenders:
(1) Male, Hispanic, 17-19 years of age, 5’07 to 5’09, 140 to 160 lbs
(2) Male, Hispanic, 17-19 years of age, 5’08, 170 lbs

• Always be aware of your surroundings
• Report suspicious activity immediately
• If you are confronted by an assailant remain calm
• Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, limp, acne, teeth,
etc…)

04 Apr 17 – 18th Dist. Community Alert Auto Theft_04.04This alert gives notice to residents of the 018th District of motor vehicle thefts that are occurring in Beat 1834. In two of the incidents, offenders are entering garages and gaining access to unlocked vehicles containing keys and stealing them. In one incident a vehicle was left running and unattended. In two other incidents, the vehicles were legally parked on the street.
