About the Crime:
This alert gives notice of two recent Vehicle Hijackings that occurred within the
boundaries of the 22nd District (Morgan Park) on beat 2221. In these cases, a Male
African American, between 45-50 years old approached female senior citizens, in
the area or 9300 S. Ashland. The offender grabbed the ladies purses, and then
entered and fled the area in their cars. Incidents occurred between 11:00am-
1:00pm. The offender displayed a handgun in one incident.
Incident times and locations:
• 9200 Block of S. Ashland, Sunday, May 7th, 2017 at 11:00am
• 9300 Block of S. Ashland, Wednesday, May 10th, 2017, at 1:00pm
About the Offender:
• The offender was described to police as Male, African American between 45-
50 years old. Standing 5’07” tall, weighing 150lbs. Subject was armed with a
handgun.
What you can do:
• Walk with a friend or group when visiting an unfamiliar neighborhood.
• If confronted by the offenders, attempt to remain calm.
• Keep your purse secured with the strap across your body
• Keep tracking software and security locks on your cell phone.
• Document serial numbers for your electronics and keep a record at your
residence.
• Never pursue a fleeing assailant, provide the information to police.
• Be aware of your surroundings and walk in well-lit areas.
• Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of any suspicious
people including any vehicle description and license plate information.

About the Crime:
This alert gives notice of several motor vehicle thefts that occurred within the
boundaries of the 17th District (Albany Park) on Beat 1732. In all of these incidents,
the unknown offender(s) stole motor vehicles that were parked on residential streets
with the doors locked.
Incident times and locations:
• 3300 Block of North Ridgeway Avenue on April 24, 2017 from 9:30 am to 3:00
pm.
• 3600 Block of West Roscoe Street on April 25, 2017 at 7:05 am.
• 3800 Block of North Pulaski Road on April 25, 2017 from 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm.
• 3800 Block of North St Louis Avenue on April 25, 2017 at 7:30 pm.
• 4000 Block of West Warwick Avenue on April 27, 2017 at 7:10 am.
• 3300 Block of North Ridgeway Avenue on May 6, 2017 at 8:00 pm.

10 May 17- 16th District Commerical Robberies Business Alert (P17-N-109)

About the Crime:
There have been two recent Commercial Robberies in the 16th District. In each of
these cases, the offenders entered the businesses, requested to use the restroom
and then threaten and struck the victims upon demanding money and property from
them.
Incident times and locations:
• 4900 block of W. Irving Park on April 19th 2017, at 12:05 PM.
• 5600 block of N. Milwaukee on May 5th 2017, at 3:00 PM.
About the Offender:
• Offender(s) are described as male black, 17-20 years of age, approximately
5’06-5’10.Wearing black hooded sweatshirts and jeans.
What you can do:
• Be aware of this crime and alert other Businesses.
• Business owners should ensure that their businesses are equipped with a
working video surveillance system.
• Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of the offender(s)
including any vehicle description and license plate information as well as
direction of flight, if known.

A 16-year-old male juvenile has been arrested and charged in connection to the murder of a 53-year-old man that occurred December 12th, 2016 at approx. 11:45 a.m. on the 11400 block of S. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

This alert gives notice to citizens, particularly those who use CTA trains in the 1st and 12th Police Districts, of two recent robberies. Both incidents occurred on May 4th, 2017 at approximately 12:50 p.m. and 1:30 p.m., while the victims were riding the Green Line and Pink Line trains, respectively. In both incidents, the female offender approached the victims as they were seated, took property from the victim’s hands by force then fled the train. For More Information Click Here

About the Crime:
This alert gives notice of recent Armed Robberies that occurred within the
boundaries of the 4th District (South Chicago). In these incidents, the unknown
offender approached the victim produced a handgun and announced a robbery.
Incident times and locations:
• 1908 E. 86th Street on Sunday April 16, 2017 at 8:30p.m.
• 8753 S. Stony Island on Sunday April 23, 2017 at 11:30p.m.
• 8800 S. Blackstone on Thursday May 4, 2017 9:45p.m.
About the Offender:
• One Male Black Offender, 40-45 years of age, 6’0″ Heavy Set.

08 MAy 17 – Com ALert Sexual Exploitation of a Child 17th DistOn May 8, 2017, between 4:15 and 4:30pm, the 14 year old female victim was walking home from school.  While at the northwest corner of Gunnison and Sacramento, the victim was approached by the offender, who was driving a black vehicle.  The offender engaged the victim in conversation and asked her to look at something he was holding.  When the victim leaned over to look, she observed that the offender did not have any pants on and was masturbating.  The victim then ran away and the offender fled southbound on Sacramento.

Robberies – 012th District

About the Crime:

This alert gives notice in the 012th District (Near West) of robbery incidents which

have occurred during the month of April. In these incidents, offenders approach

victims, batter them and take their property. In one incident the offenders were

armed with handguns. The incidents are listed below:

300 Block of North Ogden Avenue on April 11, 2017 at 1:53 AM.

1500 Block of West Fulton Street on April 19, 2017 at 10:03 PM.

1500Block of West Hubbard Street on April 26, 2017 at 11:00 PM.

About the Offenders:

3-4 unknown male black offenders, 15-25 yoa, 5’05-6″00″, 154-170lbs, dark

complexion, black or blue/black hoody, black pants

What you can do:

Always be aware of your surroundings

Report suspicious activity immediately

If you are confronted by an assailant remain calm

Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, limp, acne, teeth,

etc…)

Never pursue a fleeing assailant, provide the information to the police

If video surveillance equipment is present, please save a copy of the incident

for investigating detectives

If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information
