About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to residents of the 018th District of motor vehicle thefts that
are occurring in Beats 1811, 1814, 1822. In each of the incidents, offenders driving
vehicles strike the victim vehicle from behind. When the victim pulls over and exits
their car to assess damage, one offender enters the victim’s vehicle and drives off. In
one incident, the offenders entered the victim’s vehicle but were unsuccessful in
stealing the vehicle.
Incident times and locations:
• 1800 block of North Clybourn Ave., Friday, June 9, 2017, at 2:00pm.
• 1500 block of North Dayton St., Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 10:06pm.
• 100 block of East La Salle Dr., Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 9:00pm.
About the Offenders:
1-3 male, African Americans, described as being approximately 19-29 years of age,
and 1 female, African American, described as being 19-22 years of age.
What you can do:
• Do not leave your keys in your vehicle and turn off engine.
• Report suspicious activity immediately.
• Keep your doors and windows locked.
• If video surveillance is available, save and make a copy of the incident for
investigating Detectives.

burglary incidents that occurred during the month of June. In these incidents, the
offender(s) gained entry into a residence through a rear window/door and removed
property from therein. Incident times and locations listed below:

4700 Block of S. Kildare Ave on 11 June, 2017 at approximately 11:07 P.M.
Offender Description:
Male Hispanic, 5’07” to 5’09” tall, 160 to 175 lbs., 20 to 30 years of age
What you can do:
Keep the perimeter of your property well lit
Report suspicious activity immediately
Keep doors and windows secured
Immediately repair any broken windows, doors or locks
If video surveillance is available, save and make a copy of the incident for
investigating detectives.
Make an agreement with your neighbors to watch each other’s homes for suspicious activity.
