DUI SATURATION PATROL
CENTRAL (1ST) AND NEAR NORTH (18TH) DISTRICTS

The Chicago Police Department will be conducting a DUI Saturation Patrol in the Central (1st) and Near North (18th) Districts this weekend. The DUI Saturation Patrol will commence
at 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 27, 2017 and end at 3 a.m. on Monday, August 28, 2017.

The purpose of this program is to saturate a pre-designated area with roving police officers that continually monitor vehicular traffic for signs of impaired driving. Patrols also place emphasis on speed, alcohol-related and safety belt violations. Police vehicles equipped for speed detection are deployed to apprehend speeding violators.

In addition, the Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) Mobile Unit may also be deployed to allow officers to expedite the process of charging a person with Driving under the Influence (DUI) prior to transporting an alleged into the nearest lockup for bonding. The mobile unit also allows for Individual Recognizance Bonds (I-Bonds) to be issued at the site of the DUI Saturation Patrol.

The Chicago Police Department will be conducting a DUI Saturation Patrol in the Jefferson Park (16th) District this weekend. The DUI Saturation Patrol will commence at 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2017 and end at 3 a.m. on Sunday, August 27, 2017.

The purpose of this program is to saturate a pre-designated area with roving police officers that continually monitor vehicular traffic for signs of impaired driving. Patrols also place emphasis on speed, alcohol-related and safety belt violations. Police vehicles equipped for speed detection are deployed to apprehend speeding violators.

003rd District Grand Crossing
About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 003rd District (Grand Crossing)
of burglary related incidents that occurred during the month of July/August. The
offender (s) used force to enter the residences via the front/rear door. Once inside,
they removed personal property. Incidents listed below:
6600 block of South Kimbark Ave. approximately 10:30 a.m. on July 26, 2017
6500 block of South Minerva Ave. approximately 7:00 p.m. on July 27, 2017
700 block of East 69th Pl. approximately 1:00 a.m. on August 1, 2017
6600 block of South Drexel Ave. approximately 12:01 a.m. on August 2, 2017
6600 block of South Maryland Ave. approximately 3:30 a.m. on August 7, 2017
600 block of East 69th St. approximately 6:00 a.m. on August 7, 2017
1500 block of East Marquette Rd. approximately 12:00 p.m. on August 7, 2017
6500 block of South Rhodes Ave. approximately 1:50 a.m. on August 8, 2017

Strong Arm Robbery
003rd District Grand Crossing
About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 003rd District (Grand Crossing)
of an increase in Robbery related incidents which have occurred during the month of
August. These incidents took place in the vicinity of: Chappel Ave.-South Shore Dr./
6900 – 7400 South Blocks
In these incidents the offender (s) approached the victims, announced a robbery and
physically removed property from victim. In some incidents offenders have been
violent with the victims, striking them during and after the robbery. Detectives are
seeking information from anyone with knowledge of these offenders.
About the Offenders:
Two to four male black offenders approximately aged 8-25 years, 5’09-6’00 tall, 135-
180 lbs.
Vehicle:
A dark colored, 4 door vehicle, with Temporary Plates

Hands & Feet

Robberies – Districts 10, 14, 19, 25
About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to businesses in the 10th District, 19th District, 14th District and 25th Districts of
Robbery related incidents during the month of July/August. In these incidents, a male white
Hispanic offender armed with a knife entered businesses and demanded proceeds. These incidents
have occurred during the afternoon in the general geographical locations listed below:
• 4700 Block of West Fullerton Avenue on July 28, 2017 at 5:16PM.
• 4300 Nlock of South Archer Avenue on August 3, 2017 at 12:20PM.
• 4600 Block of North Western Avenue on August 4, 2017 at 5:30PM.
• 3500 Block of West 26th Street on August 7, 2017 at 12:41PM.
• 2400 Block of West Armitage Avenue on August 14, 2017 at 10:56AM.
• 2700 Block of West Cermak Road on August 17, 2017 at 11:10AM.
• 1500 Block of North Western Avenue on August 18, 2017 at 9:25AM.
• 6600 Block of South Pulaski Avenue on August 18, 2017 at 1:05PM.
About the Offender(s):
Offender(s) described as a male white hispanic, 5’10-6’01, 160-220lbs., 20-37 years old, brown eyes,
black hair with physical impairment on left eye. Last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and
jeans.

• Report suspicious activity immediately
• Keep doors and windows secured
• If video surveillance is available, save and make a copy of the incident for investigating
detectives.
