08 Sept 17 16th Dist Community Alert JA-422538 Attempt Kidnapping
On Thursday September 07 2017, at approximately 4:30p.m., a 10 year old female juvenile was approached on foot by an unknown male white. The unknown male approached the female juvenile from behind and without saying anything, grabbed her by both hips and picked her up off the ground. The unknown male began to carry the juvenile down the block until she was able to kick the unknown male and break free. The victim fled to her house and observed the unknown male flee on foot.

About the Crime:
This alert gives notice of recent Motor Vehicle Thefts that occurred within the
boundaries of the 017th District (Albany Park) on Beat 1731. In all of these incidents
the vehicles were legally parked, doors were locked, and there were no signs of
broken glass near the parking space. Victims returned to their vehicle to discover
they were stolen.
Incident times and locations:
• 4200 Block of West Melrose Street from 6:00 pm on August 17th to 5:00 am
on August 18th, 2017.
• 4300 Block of West Roscoe Street from 3:45 pm on August 17th to 11:00 am
on August 18th, 2017.
• 4000 Block of West Roscoe Street between 12:30 am and 1:30 am on August
18th, 2017.
• 3500 Block of North Milwaukee Avenue at 9:00 pm on August 18th, 2017.
• 3300 Block of North Pulaski Avenue between 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm on
August 22nd, 2017.

About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 002nd District (Wentworth) of
burglary incidents which have occurred during the month of August. In these
incidents, offender(s) gained entry into apartments or residences while victims were
sleeping and took property from therein. In one instance, an offender displayed a
blue steel semi-automatic pistol to a victim. These incidents have occurred in the
geographical locations listed below:

400 Block of E. 32nd Street on August 29, 2017 at approximately 3:30 A.M.
400 Block of E. 32nd Street on August 29, 2017 at approximately 12:00 P.M.

1-3 Male, Blacks, 6’00-6’02, 170-180 lbs. One offender is listed as having short hair
while another offender is listed as having dreadlocks.

• Immediately repair any broken windows, doors or locks

This alert gives notice to seasonal food vending structures operating in the 001st
District (Central) of burglary related incidents which occurred during the month of
August. The offender used force to pull open wooden window frames or break glass
window panes to gain access to the structure. Once inside the offender committed
theft. These incidents have occurred during evening and early morning hours in the
