15 Aug 2018 - Two Offenders Charged in Lincoln Park Robberies
Porter and Brown were arrested on August 14, 2018 on the 1100 block of W. Fullerton Ave., at approximately 10:22 p.m., after being identified as the armed offenders that robbed a 51-year-old male victim and a 49-year-old female on the 2600 block of N. Bosworth Ave., at approximately 10:00 p.m., moments prior. Porter and Brown were observed by officers fitting the description provided by the victims. The officers attempted to conduct a field interview when suddenly the offender pulled away causing an officer to fall and sustain a fractured hip. After a brief foot pursuit, both offenders were apprehended with a bag of property and a handgun. Further investigation revealed Porter and Brown were the offenders involved in two earlier armed robberies; first in the 1800 block of W. Berenice Ave., at 8:30 p.m., with a 23-year-old male victim and and second in the 2800 block of N. Greenview Ave., at 9:32 p.m., with a 26-year-old male victim. Porter and Brown will appear in Central Bond Court on August 16, 2018. No further information is available at this time.
