21 Dec 18 - 015 District Community Alert ARMED ROBBERIES
This alert gives notice to the residents in the 15th District (Austin) of four recent armed robberies. In those robberies one or two male African American offenders approached the victims on foot. One offender announces a robbery and places a handgun to the victims’ heads then searches the victims and removes property. In some cases a second offender is present and assists in searching victims and taking their valuables.
21 Dec 18-Community Alert-14th District Residential Burglaries
This alert gives notice to citizens in the 14th District of two burglaries that have occurred recently. Both incidents occurred to ground floor apartments on the same block. In both incidents, it appears the offender(s) entered the apartment through a ground floor window. In one incident, the victims were in bed asleep at the time.
21 Dec 18-Community Alert-8th District Agg Criminal Sexual Abuse
On Monday, December 17, 2018, at approximately 5:30 P.M. a 9 year old female Hispanic was riding a bicycle in the plaza lot located at 4900 S. Kedzie, when an unknown male Hispanic approached the victim and engaged her in conversation. The offender then covered the victim’s mouth, touched her inappropriately, and dragged her into the middle of the plaza parking lot. The victim kicked him several times and was able to escape. The unknown male swiftly walked southbound on foot.
21 Dec 18-Community Alert-6th and 7th District Aggravated CSA
This alert gives notice to an Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse that occurred in the 6th District (Gresham). In this incident a female victim was accosted and brought into a gangway at gun point where she was sexually abused and robbed. In addition the offender attempted to carry out an aggravated criminal sexual assault at this time but the attack was interrupted by a citizen passing by. This caused the offender to flee the area Westbound on 75th St. from Green St. The offender made off with the victim’s purse, which contained two Samsung cell phones.
21 Dec 18-Business Aler-19th District Robberies
This alert gives notice of two robberies to businesses located within the boundaries of the 19th District (Town Hall). In both incidents, the offenders entered the store and at least two of the offenders produced handguns. They ordered the store employees to the ground and demanded the store keys. The offenders then unlocked the back door which they used to make good their escape with the proceeds. Incident date and times listed below:
21 Dec 18 - Community Alert - 015 - Attempt Kidnapping - JB562210
On December 21, 2018 at approximately 8:55am a 13-year old girl was walking with her mother westbound 4900 block of West Huron when an unknown offender approached her from behind, displayed a handgun and grabbed her by the arm. The offender then tried pulling the victim towards his vehicle. A citizen on the street came to the victim’s aid and was able to intervene which caused the offender to flee in his vehicle.
21 Dec 18 - Community Alert - 014th District - Garage Burglaries - P18-N-333
This alert gives notice to citizens in the 014th District of two garage burglaries that occurred recently. Both incidents occurred on the same block within a week of each other. In both incidents, the unknown offender(s) entered the victim’s garage and stole property from within. The exact time of occurrence is unknown in both incidents.
20 DEC 18- Community Alert- Thefts from Vehicles 14th District (Shakespeare) -----NPThis alert gives notice to citizens in the 14th District of two thefts from parked vehicles that have occurred recently. In each case, the unknown offender (s) entered the vehicle and stole the victim’s legally owned handgun and ammunition from inside the vehicle.
19 Dec 18 Community Alert - 12th District Burglary to Auto
This alert gives notice in the 012th District (Near West) of theft related incidents which have occurred during the month of December on Beats 1215 and 1224. In these incidents, the offender(s) appear to be targeting parked vehicles near the CTA train line on weekdays. The offender(s) enter by either opening an unlocked door or breaking a window. Taken were computers, backpacks, and various personal items.
