On April 1, 2019, at approximately 7:15 a.m., a 14 year-old female was at the CTA bus stop, located on the 4200 block of North Kimball Ave., when a vehicle containing two male occupants stopped. The passenger opened his door, pulled down his pants, thus exposing himself and instructed the female to get into the vehicle. The victim ignored the request and the vehicle drove off Southbound on Kimball Ave.

This alert gives notice of commercial burglaries to restaurants, convenience stores, and storage facilities. The method of entry has varied based on the structure. The offender made access through roof vents at single story structures and pried/broke doors and windows on larger commercial buildings. Once inside, the offender demolished walls to gain access to registers and offices when necessary. The registers were pried open and an unknown amount of US currency was taken, along with other property.

This alert gives notice in the 001st & 012th Districts of robbery and criminal sexual abuse incidents which have occurred during the month of March on CTA property (Beats 113 & 1214). In the 001st District incident, the offenders and victim were at the Orange Line stop when the offenders followed the victim onto the elevator. After denying the offenders requests for money, the offenders began kissing the victim against her will and one offender made contact with the victim’s genital area. The offenders fled the scene. In the 012th District incident, an offender and two victims were on the Green Line train when the offender requested food. After giving the offender food, he touched the victim’s genital area, took the victim’s cell phone, and fled the train.

On April 5, 2019 at 2:07 P.M. a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while crossing in the crosswalk on the 1200 South block of Central Park Avenue. The pedestrian is listed in critical condition as a result of the traffic crash. The 61 year old woman was struck by an unknown vehicle matching the below description.

In each incident, the offender(s) forces entry into bars/restaurants through the front/rear door and enter the premises. Once inside, the offender(s) removes liquor and leaves the area.

CPD Community Alert – Public Indecency 19th District (Town Hall)
On April 3, 2019 at approximately 4:00 p.m. the mother of the victim was sitting in her vehicle, waiting to pick up her children from School located in the 3700 block N. Oakley Ave. when she observed an African American male sitting in his vehicle watching the children being dismissed from school while touching himself inappropriately. After a period of time the offender drove his car off northbound on Oakley Ave.
CPD Community Alert – Robberies 3rd District (Grand Crossing)
This alert gives notice to citizens in the 3rd District (Grand Crossing) of robbery related incidents which have occurred during the months of March and April. In these incidents, two to four offenders approached the victims and demanded/ forcibly took the victims’ property before fleeing the scene. In two of the incidents, one offender displayed a handgun and in another incident, the offenders fled in a red Ford Explorer.
