CPD Community Alert – Criminal Damage to Vehicle 1st District (Central)
About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to residents in the 001st District of recent Criminal Damage to Vehicle incidents which have occurred during the month of January at multiple parking garages on the far north end of the district. In each of these incidents, the offender(s) are targeting unattended vehicles located in a parking structure. In a vast majority of occurrences, the offender(s) are entering locked vehicles by breaking the driver or passenger side windows with an unknown object; however, no property has been reported taken to date.
6600 Block of S. Maplewood on January 22, 2022 @ approx. 9:54 p.m.-8th District
A 30 year old male victim was standing outside when he heard several shots fired and felt pain. The victim was unable to communicate further details due to the severity of his injuries. The victim sustained multiple gsw to the body and was transported to Christ Hospital where he is listed in critical condition. There is no one in custody and Area One detectives are investigating.
CPD Business Alert – Burglaries – Catalytic Converters – 25th District

This alert gives notice to churches in the 025th Districts of recent burglaries to Businesses in the overnight hours. The Offender cuts the locks to yards containing commercial trucks and the offenders cut and remove catalytic converters off said trucks.

This alert gives notice to churches in the 014th and 025th Districts of recent burglaries to churches in the overnight hours. The Offender breaks the windows or uses a crow bar to gain entry. Once inside they steal money, electronics, and snowblowers.

20 Jan 22 - Juvenile Offender Charged with Armed Robbery5900 block of N Glenwoodt
The above offender was arrested on January 19, 2022, at approximately 11:38 a.m. in the 3000 block of S. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. He was identified as the offender who was in possession of several stolen vehicles and involved in multiple armed robberies. During one of the armed robberies a 60 year-old man was shot in the leg, this incident occurred on January 13, 2022 at approximately 10:01 p.m. (20th District). The offender was placed into custody and charged accordingly. No additional information is available at this time.
