The above offender has been charged in connection to a robbery attempt that occurred in the 600 Block of N. Lake Shore Drive on May 29, 2016, at approximately 1:30 a.m. Dodd approached the victims, a 32-year-old female and a 43-year-old male, and announced a robbery. The offender chased the victims as co-arrestee Semaj Waters pointed a handgun in their direction. The victims attempted to flee across Lake Shore Drive and were struck by a vehicle causing the fatality of the female victim and injuries to the male victim. Further investigation and released photo images of the offender through a CPD Community Alert led to their apprehension. Dodd was charged accordingly. Charges for Devonte Dodd
