My name is Nelson I. Perez & I am the Commander of the 025th District. I grew up in the West Humboldt Park area and attended Brian Piccolo Elementary School. After graduating, I moved into the Logan Square area and attended Carl Schurz High School. I am the first in my family to go into the field of law enforcement and believe that it has been my calling. I attended Wilbur Wright College and obtained my Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. I continued my studies in Criminal Justice and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Law Enforcement Management from Calumet College. I continued with my studies and graduated from St Xavier University with a Master's Degree in Business Management and a Master's Degree in Financial Fraud Investigations. On my free time, I like to spend time with my loved ones and pursue various hobbies including exploring computer technology, sampling various music genres and vacationing with my family.

My vision for public safety is building trust amongst community residents and mentoring young people in order to assist them through their journey in life. I enjoy working alongside community residents to protect them from crimes and any other issues that may threaten their peace and quality of life. My key to accomplishing this vision is to continue working hand in hand with our Faith-based leaders and Business/Community/Political Stake Holders. In doing so, it is my hope to build strong relationships of mutual trust between the Police and the Community while simultaneously reducing crime.

"Me siento honrado de provenir de la comunidad que ahora protejo y sirvo en el Distrito 025."

"I am honored to have come from the community that I now protect and serve as the Commander of the 025th District.”
