Garage Burglaries

016th District (Jefferson Park)

About the Crime:

This alert gives notice to the residents of the 16th District (Jefferson Park) of several garage

burglaries that occurred during the month of August 2017. In these incidents, unknown

offender(s) gained entry by forcibly kicking or prying open the overhead/side door and

windows. Offender(s) then removed construction tools, bicycles, lawn equipment, snow

blower, lawn care equipment, laptops, jewelry, USC.

Incident times and locations:

There have been several incidents that have occurred since August 9, 2017. These

incidents have taken place on Beat 1632, within the boundaries of Belmont to

Montrose/Forest Preserve Drive and Narragansett to Harlem.

3200 block of N. Neenah on August 09, 2017 at between 12:01 AM – 5:00 AM

3400 block of N. Neva on August 10-11, 2017 between 8:00 PM – 5:00 AM

3200 block of N. Neenah on August 10, 2017 at 5:00 PM

3400 block of N. Nottingham on August 10-11, 2017 between 6:00 PM – 7:50 AM

3900 block of N. Nordica on August 11-12, 2017 between 10:00 PM – 10:00 AM

What you can do:

Be aware of this pattern crime and alert your friends and family about these crimes.

Make sure all doors and windows are locked.

Pay special attention to any suspicious subjects loitering in the area.

Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of the offender(s), including any

vehicle description and license plate information, as well as direction of flight, if known.

Armed Robbery
003rd District Grand Crossing
About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 003rd District (Grand Crossing)
that an increase in Robbery related incidents have occurred during the month of
August in the vicinity of: Prairie Ave.6000-6100 South.
The Offender (s) make contact via “Let Go and Offer Up Apps” approaches the
victims and announces a robbery while displaying weapon. Detectives are seeking
information from anyone with knowledge of these offenders.
About the Offenders:
1-2 Male blacks, 25- 30 yoa, 5’07-6’00,150-200 lbs (dreads possible)

What you can do:
• Always be aware of your surroundings
• Report suspicious activity immediately
• If you are confronted by an assailant remain calm
• Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, limp, acne, teeth,
etc…)
• Never pursue a fleeing assailant, provide the information to the police
• If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information
• Dial 9-1-1 immediately and remain on scene when possible

6th District (Gresham)

About the Crime:

This alert gives notice to citizens of the 006

th District (Gresham) on Beat 623 & Beat 632 of

recent Robbery incidents that have occurred in recent weeks. During these incidents,

unknown offender(s) have displayed firearms and demanded property from the victims or

used force to take property without a weapon.

15 West 79th Street, Saturday, July 01, 2017 at 03:30 P.M.

200 block of West 81st Street, Thursday, July 06, 2017 at 01:55 A.M.

7500 block of South Vincennes Ave, Monday, July 10, 2017 at 03:30 A.M.

100 block of West 76th Street, Monday, July 10, 2017 at 03:30 A.M.

7900 block of South Lafayette Ave, Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at O0:44 A.M.

300 block of East 75th Street, Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 02:15 P.M.

8300 block of South Wabash Avenue, Friday, August 04, 2017 at 03:22 P.M.

About the Offender:

One to Three Male Black Offenders(s), 19-27 years of age, 5’06”-5’07”, light/medium/dark

complexion and various hairstyles (afro, braids, dreadlocks, fade, short hair). In several

incidents the offender(s) were driving in a Black Chevy Impala.

What you can do:

If confronted by the offender, attempt to remain calm.

Always be aware of your surroundings.

Report suspicious activity immediately.

Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of any suspicious people

including any vehicle description and license plate information.
