This alert gives notice to the citizens in the 8th District (Chicago Lawn) of robbery incidents which have occurred during the month of May. In these incidents, the offender(s) approach the victim and demand the victim’s vehicle and property.
Incident Times and Locations:
• 3500 Block of W. 72nd Place on May 20, 2017 at approximately 1:55 a.m.
• 8400 Block of S. Tripp Avenue on May 28, 2017 at approximately 3:30 p.m.

30 May 17 Armed Robbery 19th District (P17-N-124)

About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to three robberies of businesses at locations within the
boundaries of the 19th District. In these robberies, one male white or hispanic
offender entered the business and ordered items for purchase, then proceeded to
imply he had a weapon then took items from victims. In the most recent incident the
offender dragged the sales clerk behind the counter while holding a knife,
proceeding to take liquor and cigarettes before fleeing.
Incident times and locations:
• 4000 block of N. Kenmore, on May 11, 2017 at 02:00am.
• 3900 block of N. Sheridan, on May 13, 2017 at 03:00am
• 2800 block of N. Ashland on May 30, 2017 at 02:34am.
About the Offender:
Male White or Male Hispanic, 30 – 40 years of age, 5’05 – 5’11, 200 – 280 pounds
Black Baseball Cap with Red Bill and a large number 23 on hat in 2 incidents, Blue
Cubs Baseball Cap in one incident, Black Jacket or Sweater, Grey T-Shirt, Black or
Tan Shorts, Black Gym shoes.
What you can do:
• Be aware of this crime and alert nearby businesses.
• Pay special attention to any suspicious groups loitering in the area.
• Have and maintain a working surveillance system for your business.
• Refrain from touching any area of your business where the offenders may have
touched, or may have left an item behind.
• Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of the offender(s)
including any vehicle description and license plate information.

30 May 17- Business Alert-25th District Armed Robberies (P17-N-123)

About the Crime:
This alert gives notice of two recent Armed Robberies of businesses within the 25th
District. The Offender entered the business, displayed a firearm and demanded
money. Based on witness accounts the offender appears to be wearing a wig
(offender is possibly bald).
Incident times and locations:
• 5800 block of West North Ave. on May 25, 2017 at 4:37pm
• 6300 block of West North Ave. on May 26, 2017 at 2:51pm
About the Offender:
• Male, black, 26-28 years old, 5’08”-6’00”, 160-180lbs. wearing a black
baseball cap and possibly wearing a wig.
What you can do:
• Be aware of this crime and alert your neighbors.
• Pay special attention to any suspicious people loitering in the area.
• Maintain delivery records, including phone numbers & addresses.

On April 24, 2017 at approximately 4:30 a.m., a 28-year-old female was walking eastbound on the 7900 block between S. Michigan & Wabash, when an unknown offender approached her from behind and forced her into the alley. The offender then displayed a knife and dragged the victim to the rear of the 7800 block of South Michigan where he sexually assaulted and robbed her.  For more information click here.

About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to residents of the 18th (Near North) District of several
reported armed robberies. In each of the incidents, the offenders approached the
victims, produced a handgun, and forcibly demanded property from the victims. The
offenders threaten to shoot the victims if they don’t comply. The offenders were seen
fleeing in a silver vehicle during one incident. The incidents have occurred on Beats
1812 and 1821.
Incident times and locations:
• 2300 block of North Halsted St., Monday, May 22, 2017 between 10:15-
10:30pm.
• 600 block of West Webster Ave., Monday, May 22, 2017 at 10:15pm.
• 700 block of West Dickens Ave., Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 3:35pm.
• 600 block of West Webster Ave., Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 10:22pm.
• 500 block of West Belden Ave., Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 10:48pm.
• 500 block of West Fullerton Pkwy., Tuesday May 23, 2017 at 10:56pm.
• 1400 block of North Sedgwick St., Tuesday May 23, 2017 at 4:40am.
About the Offenders:
• 4 male, African Americans, described as 17-20 years of age, with heights
ranging from 5’02”-6’04”, and weighing 160-185lbs.

• Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, tattoos, acne, limps,
etc).

incidents which have occurred during the month of May. In these incidents, male
black offender(s) approached victim(s) and demanded their property. In one incident,
a silver sedan is used and in another, a dark colored vehicle. Incident times and
locations are listed below:

• 2000 Block of South Wentworth Avenue at 9:09AM on May 19, 2017.
• 2600 Block of South Stewart Avenue at 8:15AM on May 25, 2017.
• 3000 Block of West 25th Place at 10:20AM on May 25, 2017.
About the Offenders:
• One to two male blacks, 5’04-5’07, 15-22 years of age, over 100lbs. up to
175lbs., dark complexion.

About the Crime:

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the above Districts, of recent burglary

home invasions that have occurred. In these incidents, the offender (s) gain entry to

the residences, threaten and batter the victims while demanding their property.

Offender is described as a Male black between 16-30 years of age, 5’06”-6’03”, 140-170lbs, short black hairstyle, red or black hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans
