015 Austin Burglaries Community alert[1] This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 015th District (Austin) of an increase in Burglary related incidents that have occurred during the month of November. In these incidents, unknown offender(s) force their way into a residence through the rear door or a window and removes the victim’s property.

This alert gives notice to Residential Burglaries that have occurred in the area from Austin to Oak Park, and North Ave. to Armitage, in the 025th District. In the month of November, there have been 3 burglaries to residences in which the offender(s) entered the residence by forcibly opening a door, or the offender entered through an unlocked window.

About the crime:

This alert gives notice to the residents of the 16th District (Jefferson Park) of several burglaries that have occurred. In these incidents, unknown offender(s) have entered apartments and residences, through windows or doors, and have taken electronics, cash, and other miscellaneous items.

Incident times and locations:

There have been several incidents that have occurred since October 28, 2015. These incidents have taken place on Beat 1614, within the boundaries of East River Road to Canfield and Higgins to Irving Park Road, at various hours of the day.

  • 5200 block of N. Potawatomie on October 28, 2015 between 6:00 PM – 7:12 PM
  • 5400 block of N. East River Road, on November 13-14, 2015 between 9:00 AM – 11:20 AM
  • 8500 block of W. Catalpa on November 15, 2015 at 3:00 PM
  • 8500 block of W. Carmen on November 16, 2015 between 7:00 PM – 9:35 PM

This alert gives notice to residents of the 018th District (Near North) of Burglary related incidents during the month of November. In these incidents, an offender makes entry into a residence by breaking the glass on a window or door and proceeds to remove property from within .

Area Central Detectives are seeking assistance in identifying a homicide suspect. On November 1, 2015 at approximately 8:34 a.m  on the 4000 block of West 31st St a 23 year old male sustained a gun shot in the chest after a male offender on foot fired a weapon before fleeing in a vehicle. The victim was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he was subsequently pronounced.
