On Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at approximately 7:37 PM, 4th District officers observed an armed subject in the 7400 block of South Bennett. Officers pursued the subject to the rear of a residence where an armed confrontation ensued. Officers discharged their weapons striking the offender who was transported to the University of Chicago Hospital in critical condition.
16 Feb 2019 - Police Involved Shooting - 2100 Block of South KeelerOn Saturday, February 16th, 2019 at approximately 8:31 PM, 10th District Tactical Officers attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation. While following the vehicle, officers observed the car strike a parked vehicle and curb before coming to a stop in the 2100 Block of South Keeler. A male passenger exited the vehicle at which time an armed confrontation ensued, causing an officer to discharge his weapon, striking the offender. The offender was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his wounds and is in critical condition. Two weapons were recovered on scene.

On Saturday July 14, 2018 at approximately 5:31 p.m., 3rd District Police Officers were on foot patrol in the vicinity of the 2000 block of East 71st St. The officers approached a male subject exhibiting characteristics of an armed person, when an armed confrontation ensued resulting in an officer discharging his weapon and fatally striking the offender. The offender was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced. A weapon was recovered at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
On Tuesday July 3rd, 2018 at approximately 7:59 p.m., 11th District Tactical
Officers were responding to a person with a gun call in the 4700 block of West Fulton St. when
they were confronted by an armed offender. Officers fired shots at the offender striking him.
The offender was transported to Stroger Hospital where he was later pronounced. A weapon
was recovered at the scene.
On Monday, July 2nd, 2018 shortly after 9:30 PM, a 4th District Officer was sitting
in the parking lot of a dollar store inside a marked vehicle in between calls. An armed offender
approached the officer in his car at which point the officer was able to retrieve his weapon and
shoot the offender. A weapon was recovered at the scene and the offender has been
transported to a local hospital where he is in serious condition.
02 JUL 2018 - Police Involved Shooting - 7900 Block of South Yates
On Wednesday June 6th, 2018 at approximately 8:15 p.m., 2nd District Tactical
Officers were conducting a narcotics investigation in the 300 Block of East 47th St. Officers
responded to the area at which point the offender fled on foot prompting officers to give chase.
Responding officers commanded him to stop at which point the man produced a weapon and
an armed encounter between the offender and police ensued. An officer discharged his
weapon fatally striking the offender. The man was transported to an area hospital where he
succumbed to his wounds. A weapon was recovered at the scene. A Sergeant was taken to
