010 District (Ogden)
About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to the community in the 010 District (Ogden) of robbery
incidents which have occurred during the month of August. In these incidents, the
offender approached the victim and demanded personal property from the victims. In
these incidents, these offenders lured their victims by pretending to be a female on
the dating website “MEET ME.” The victims are lured to the 4200 block of West
Cullerton where unknown offender(s) approached the victim, displayed a handgun,
beat the victims, and took victim’s personal items, including their vehicle.
Incident times and locations are listed below:
1900 Block of South Keeler Avenue on August 29, 2017 at 3:30 AM.
4200 Block of West Cullerton Street on August 29, 2017 at 4:30 AM.
4200 Block of West Cullerton Street on August 30, 2017 at 4:30 AM.
About the Offender:
2-6 Male(s) black offenders, 15-25 years of age, approximately 5’09-6’01, 140-170
lbs.
In the incidents, the offender(s) have taken two vehicles:
2007 Blue Chevrolet AVEO (ILLINOIS LP# Q517134)
2001 Black Hyundai ELANTRA (ILLINOIS LP# S728176
What you can do:
• Always be aware of your surroundings
• Report suspicious activity immediately
• If you are confronted by an assailant remain calm
• Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, limp, acne, teeth,
etc…)
• Never pursue a fleeing assailant, provide the information to the police
• If video surveillance equipment is present, please save a copy of the incident
for investigating detectives
• If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information
• Dial 9-1-1 immediately and remain on scene when possible
