012th District (Near West)
About the Crime:
This alert gives notice in the 012th District of burglary related incidents that occurred
during the month of February/March. In these incidents, the offenders entered the
victim’s residence. The incidents are listed below:
• 2200 Block of West Huron Street on February 23, 2017 at 6:05PM.
• 1900 Block of West Erie Street on February 25-26, 2017 between 11:00PM-
3:00AM.
• 2200 Block of West Erie Street on February 28, 2017 between 7:50PM-
8:00PM.
• 500 Block of North Troy Street on March 2, 2017 at 8:00AM.
About the Offenders:
• In one incident, one unknown male black, 20-29 years old, 5’11.
• In another incident, three unknown males.
What you can do:
• Always be aware of your surroundings
• Report suspicious activity immediately
• If you are confronted by an assailant remain calm
• Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, limp, acne, teeth,
etc…)
• Never pursue a fleeing assailant, provide the information to the police
• If video surveillance equipment is present, please save a copy of the incident
for investigating detectives
• If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information
• Dial 9-1-1 immediately and remain on scene when possible
