On June 16, 2016 a street vendor in the 8600 block of South Cottage Grove was approached by an individual and asked about his merchandise for sale. After the offender indicated he wished to purchase an item, the vendor produced money to make change for the transaction. As he did, the offender proceeded to produce a firearm and rob the victim of his money. On June 25, 2016 another vendor was robbed in much the same way on the 8600 block of South State Street.
