Jones was charged in connection to a fatal hit-and-run traffic crash that occurred on July 22, 2016, at approximately 1:50 p.m. on the 3300 block of S. Indiana. Jones was driving a 2016 Ford Cargo Truck westbound on 33rd Street when he ran a red light at Indiana and struck a 2014 Ford F150 pickup being operated by a 37-year-old male. Jones exited his vehicle at the scene of the collision and fled on foot. The 37-year-old victim was transported to Stroger Hospital where he was later pronounced. Jones was charged accordingly.
