Thank you for visiting the Chicago Police Department’s public comment forum for the directives on Search Warrants.  Following the public engagement period held from November 1st through December 31st, 2022, CPD reviewed the feedback to inform revisions to its search warrant directives. In response to the comments, concerns, suggestions, and lived-experiences of community members, CPD has developed a revised Search Warrants draft and implemented a Search Warrant Community Resources and Referrals Pilot Program.

As part of our ongoing mission to grow trust within the communities we serve, from January 31st through June 30th, 2023, CPD invites the community to review and provide feedback on a revised Search Warrants draft and the Search Warrant Pilot Program. After the comment period concludes, CPD will review the additional feedback received to guide future revisions to the drafts. CPD will consider your comments before finalizing the directives.
