In the 4000 block of E. 106th Street at approximately 5:12 p.m, a 49-year-old male victim was in the parking lot of a restaurant when an unknown vehicle pulled up and a 19-year-old male offender exited the vehicle. The offender then produced a firearm and fired shots at the victim. The victim then produced his own firearm and fired shots at the offender, striking him in the right hand and the left foot. The offender was transported to the University of Chicago Hospital in good condition. The 49-year-old victim did not sustain any injuries. Area Two Detectives are investigating.
