The victim, a John Doe approximately 35-40 years old, was driving at the above location when a gray SUV, possibly an older model Acura, with two unknown males inside approached. The front passenger of the SUV opened fire, striking the victim in the chest. The victim then lost control of his vehicle and collided with a building in the 5200 block of N. Western. The victim was transported to St. Francis Hospital, where he was pronounced. Two passengers were in the victim’s vehicle at the time and were not shot. One passenger, a 44-year-old male, was transported to Swedish Convent Hospital for minor injuries from the accident and is listed in good condition. A 47-year-old male declined EMS. The offenders fled in an unknown direction and are not in custody at this time. Area Three detectives are investigating.
