UPDATE: A 32 year old female victim self-transported to Mt. Sinai with a gsw to the leg and is listed in good condition. (14 people shot/1 person struck by a vehicle)

 

Officers and CFD responded to multiple people shot and verified that 13 victims were struck by gunfire. Preliminary investigation indicates that a group of people were standing on the corner of California and Polk attending a vigil unrelated to the incident when two unidentified occupants traveling in a dark SUV began shooting. The vehicle was last seen fleeing Southbound from the scene. There is no one in custody and Area Four detectives are investigating. The victims are as follows:

F/11 is in serious condition at Mt. Sinai with a gsw to the leg.  F/56 is in serious condition at Mt. Sinai with a gsw to the torso.  M/13 is in serious condition at Stroger with a gsw to the torso and leg.  M/3 is in serious condition at Stroger with a gsw to both legs.  M/31 is in good condition at Mt. Sinai with a gsw to the leg.  F/unknown is in unknown condition at Mt. Sinai with a gsw to the torso.  M/37 is in critical condition at Stroger with a gsw to the torso.  M/51 is in serious condition at Stroger with a gsw to the torso.  F/35 is in good condition at Northwestern with a gsw to the leg.  F/48 is in good condition at Northwestern with a gsw to the leg.  M/48 is in critical condition at Mt. Sinai with a gsw to the head.  F/47 is in good condition at Loyola with a gsw to the leg.  F/40 is in good condition at Loyola with a gsw to the leg.

There was also an adult female victim which was attempting to flee from the scene which was struck by a vehicle as she was crossing traffic. The victim was transported to Stroger Hospital in fair condition with various scrapes to the body.
