On September 25, 2020, approximately 11:07am, in the 5900 block of S. Wentworth, three male victims were shot.  The victims were in a vehicle exiting the Dan Ryan, traveling northbound on S. Wentworth when offenders in a black SUV drove by firing shots. The three victims self-transported to St Bernard Hospital in an unknown condition. No offenders are in custody. Area One Detectives are investigating.

A 24-year-old man was sitting in his parked car when an unknown male black approached on foot and fired shots, striking him in the chest. He was subsequently pronounced on scene. No one is in custody with Area One detectives investigating and on background the victim does not appear to be known to police.

A 19-year-old man was driving when an unknown male Hispanic inside of a black Chevy Blazer fired shots, striking him in the back. The victim was transported to Mount Sinai and is currently in fair condition while the offender is not in custody. Area Four detectives are investigating and on background the victim does not appear to be known to police.

Two men were standing outside when an unknown male black on foot fired shots, striking them both. A 22-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds to the back, abdomen and leg before he was transported to Northwestern in critical condition. The second victim, 22, was shot in the leg and transported to University of Chicago in fair condition. A person of interest was placed into custody by responding officers soon after the incident and transported to the area for further investigation. Area Three detectives are investigating and on background the older victim is known to police.

An 18-year-old man was walking when he heard shots and felt pain, suffering two gunshot wounds to the leg. The victim stated he did not see the offender(s) or know where the shots came from and was driven by a friend to Stroger where he is in good condition. No one is in custody as Area Three detectives investigate and on background the victim does not appear to be known to police.

A 24-year-old man was walking when an unknown occupant inside of a vehicle (no further description) fired shots, striking him in the leg. He was transported to Mount Sinai in fair condition while the offender is not in custody. Area Four detectives are investigating and on background the victim does not appear to be known to police.

A 45-year-old male victim was in the park when he sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The victim was transported to Stroger Hospital in critical condition. Area One Detectives are investigating.

A 33 year old male sustained a gunshot wound to the shoulder and hand. The victim was transported to the University of Chicago hospital in good condition.  No offender in custody, Area one detectives are investigating.

UPDATE: The 28-year-old victim has been pronounced.

In the 7800 block of S. Cornell, on Sep. 23, 2020, at approx. 8:50 p.m., two female victims, 28, 35, heard shots and felt pain. The 28-year-old victim was struck to the head and was transported to U of C in critical condition. The 35-year-old female victim was struck to the foot and refused EMS on scene. No offenders are in custody. Area Two Detectives are investigating.
