Thank you for visiting the Chicago Police Department’s public comment forum for the School Resource Officers and Investigations at Chicago Public Schools policy. This directive provides guidelines for the selection, training, assignment, responsibilities, evaluations, and data regarding the activities of school resource officers (SRO). The policy also sets forth guidelines for conducting investigations on ChicagoPublic Schools’ property and has been revised pursuant to paragraphs 40 of the Consent Decree.

As part of our ongoing mission to grow trust within the communities we serve, CPD took comments from the public on the School Resource Officers and Investigations at Chicago Public Schools policy for 15 days beginning on May 18, 2020. CPD will consider your comments before finalizing the directive.
