There have been recent construction site thefts in the 17th District. In these incidents, the victims were contractors and construction companies that were doing demolition work or rehabbing buildings. The unknown offender took electrical wiring, copper wiring or copper piping from the construction sites.
07 Apr 19- Community Alert-17th District (Albany Park) Attempt Child Luring JC209547On April 1, 2019, at approximately 7:15 a.m., a 14 year-old female was at the CTA bus stop, located on the 4200 block of North Kimball Ave., when a vehicle containing two male occupants stopped. The passenger opened his door, pulled down his pants, thus exposing himself and instructed the female to get into the vehicle. The victim ignored the request and the vehicle drove off Southbound on Kimball Ave.
02 ApRIL 19- Community Alert- 17th District Residential BurglaryP19-N-089A CA NPOn March 28, 2019 at approximately 1:38 p.m., an apartment was burglarized in the 3800 Block of North Troy St. The offender entered the apartment through a window and then took property.
24 Mar 19 - Community Alert - 16th District Theft - P19-N-074
This alert gives notice to the residents of the 16th District.(Jefferson Park), 17th District. (Albany Park), 20th District (Lincoln), 24th District (Rogers Park) of numerous thefts from autos (Jeep Grand Cherokees) that have occurred. In these incidents, the victims parked their vehicles near their homes and when they returned to their vehicles, they discover that their car battery had been stolen.
16 Feb 19-17th District Attempt Robbery
This alert gives notice of two attempt robbery incidents that have occurred within the boundaries of the 17th District (Albany Park) on Beat 1723. In both of these incidents, the offenders attempted to take a bag or purse from the victim. In the first incident, the offenders struck the victim in the face and attempted to take her purse. In the second incident, the offenders pushed the victim to the ground and attempted to take her bag.

14 FEB 19 Community Alert -Wanted for a Hit and Run 17th District (Albany Park) 608-19-002 NPOn Monday, January 21, 2019 at approximately 5:35 p.m., in the 3900 block of North Cicero Ave., a pedestrian was struck and critically injured by an unknown vehicle. The vehicle failed to stop and fled the scene.
