The Chicago Police Department will be conducting DUI Strike Force Patrols in the Grand Crossing (3rd) District and in the Grand Central (25th) District this weekend. The Grand Crossing (3rd) District DUI Strike Force Patrol will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 3rd, 2015 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 4th, 2015. The DUI Strike Force Patrol will commence in the Grand Central (25th) District at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 4th, 2015 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 5th 2015.

Medina and Marchan were arrested after they were identified as the persons who entered several retail businesses in the 17th and 25th districts from February 1st to March 25, 2015 and robbed the establishments.  Medina entered the businesses announced a robbery and displayed a handgun on two of the incidents and a knife in the others, before demanding money and property. Medina would then flee in a vehicle driven by Marchan. Area North detectives issued a Business Alert on March 17, 2015 informing the business owners in the area.  Medina and Marchan were subsequently arrested and charged accordingly.  No further information is available at this time.Charges for Medina and Marchan

The Chicago Police Department will be conducting a DUI Strike Force Patrol in the Harrison (11th) District. The DUI Strike Force Patrol will commence at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 14th, 2015 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 15th, 2015.

The Chicago Police Department will be conducting a DUI Strike Force Patrol in the Albany Park (17th) District. The DUI Strike Force Patrol will commence at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7th, 2015 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 8th, 2015.

The purpose of this program is to saturate a pre-designated area with roving police officers that continually monitor vehicular traffic for signs of impaired driving. Patrols also place emphasis on speed, alcohol-related and safety belt violations. Police vehicles equipped for speed detection are deployed to apprehend speeding violators.

In addition, the Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) Mobile Unit may also be deployed to allow officers to expedite the process of charging a person with Driving under the Influence (DUI) prior to transporting an alleged into the nearest lockup for bonding. The mobile unit also allows for Individual Recognizance Bonds (I-Bonds) to be issued at the site of the DUI Strike Force Patrol.

About This Crime:

On January 20, 2015, at approximately 3:15 p.m., a 10 year-old male and an 8 year old female were walking home from school on the 3900 block of N. Spaulding Ave., when a vehicle containing two male subjects attempted to engage the children in conversation. The passenger of said vehicle requested the children to come over to his vehicle, stating he would offer them a ride home or anywhere they wish to go. After the children didn’t respond, the passenger offered them candy and appeared like he was going to exit his vehicle. The children fled to their residence and the vehicle drove away.

About the Crime:

On 5 January 2015, at approximately 8:45 PM, a 13 year old female was walking home from a friend’s house in the 3700 block of west Ainslie when an adult male offender approached her from behind. The offender uttered unknown words to her in Spanish and grabbed the victim’s buttocks. The victim began to scream and the offender fled through a nearby gangway.
