21 Sep 18 - MAIU 17th District pulaski and kennedy update
On Saturday, September 1st, 2018 at about 9:30 p.m., a male pedestrian was struck by an unknown vehicle in the block of 3900 N. Pulaski Road. The pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries. The vehicle failed to stop at the scene to render aid and exchange information. A dark colored SUV was reportedly seen passing this location at the time of the impact. This is an area with high volume of vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Service roads in this area allow access north to Irving Park Road and south to enter the Kennedy Expressway, along with an entrance to the CTA Blue Line Train Station. The Chicago Police Department needs the help of the community to solve this Hit and Run.
18 Sep 18 - Community Alert Criminal Sexual Abuse 17th District JB439834b
On September 17, 2018 at approximately 7:30 p.m., a lone female was walking eastbound on the 4700 block of west Addison Street when she noticed a subject following her from behind. The offender, a male Hispanic in his 20’s, approached the victim and engaged her in conversation in the Spanish language. The offender then inappropriately touched the victim about the body and attempted to move her to another location. The victim was able to fight the offender off, causing her minor injury. The offender then fled from the scene in an unknown direction
There have been recent Commercial Robberies that have occurred in the 17th District at restaurants and retail establishments. In two incidents, the offender entered the business, displayed a firearm and demanded money from the cash register. In one incident, the offender entered the business and implied that he had a handgun and demanded money from the cash register. In the most recent incident, the offender entered the business, demanded money from the cash register without displaying a weapon.
09 AUG 18- Community Alert 017th District Home Invasion Burglary
This alert gives notice to citizens in the 017th District of two Burglary/ Home Invasions which have occurred. In each case unknown offender(s) entered the victim’s residence and took items from within. The victim(s) were home at the time. The offender(s) gained entry to the victim(s) home by claiming they had been working nearby, and were returning the victim’s dog who had escaped the residence.
This alert gives notice of garage burglaries that have occurred within the boundaries of the 17th District (Albany Park) on Beat 1732. In these burglaries, the offender(s) entered the garages through the door or through the window and then took property.
