About these crimes:

On August 26, 2015, there were numerous reports of catalytic converters thefts from vehicles located in the Beverly & Morgan Park neighborhoods (9900-11700 S. Campbell – Washtenaw). Most of the targeted vehicles appear to be small to mid-size SUVs. The thefts occurred between 12:00am and 5:30am. Pictured above is a catalytic converter. After cutting them off of cars, the converters are usually taken to junk yards and could be worth up to several hundred dollars.

About the offenders:

Victims & witnesses reported observing two male African American subjects dressed in hooded sweatshirts committing these thefts. The offenders were driving in a black Mercedes sedan with Illinois Dealer plates.

This alert gives notice to residents of the Morgan Park (22nd) District of nine recent burglary incidents that occurred in the Washington Heights neighborhood on beat 2222 during the month of August 2015. In these incidents, a group of two to four male offenders make entry into houses through a window, taking property from within the residence and exit through the back door. The area in which these burglaries occur is 8800 S. – 9100 S. Morgan west to Throop St. Incidents mostly occur during daytime and evening hours.

Charges for Juvenile _Agg Batt of 7YO_A male juvenile was placed in custody after being identified in connection to an aggravated battery that occurred on the 1300 block of W. 109th Place on May 20, 2015 at approximately 3:20 p.m. During the incident the 7 year old victim sustained a gun shot wound to the shoulder while walking at that location. The victim was taken to Comers Children’s Hospital in stable condition. The juvenile offender was charged accordingly.

The Chicago Police Department will conduct a Roadside Safety Check in the Grand Crossing (3rd) District at 7424 S. Stony Island Ave. The Roadside Safety Check will commence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20th, 2015 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 21st, 2015.

Chris Moore was arrested after he was identified as the person who stabbed a 48 year old female. CFD and CPD personnel responded to a “person down” call on February 8, 2015 at approximately 12:10 p.m. in the 11300 block of S. Parnell Ave. and discovered an unresponsive female. It was later determined that the victim died from a stab wound to the abdomen. Moore was arrested and charged accordingly. No further information is available at this time.
