About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 008th District (Chicago Lawn) of
burglary incidents which occurred during the month of July. In these incidents,
offender(s) gained entry into a garage through a side/overhead door and removed
property from therein. The geographical locations of the incidents are listed below.
Incident times and locations:
5200 Block of S. Menard Ave on 12 July, 2017 at approximately 08:00 P.M.
5100 Block of S. Austin Ave on 14 July, 2017 at approximately 12:30 A.M.
5200 Block of S. Austin Ave on 18 July, 2017 at approximately 08:00 A.M.
5400 Block of S. Mulligan Ave on 19 July, 2017 at approximately 12:00 P.M.
5200 Block of S. Natchez Ave on 26 July, 2017 at approximately 06:45 A.M.
5100 Block of S. Austin Ave on 27 July, 2017 at approximately 6:00 P.M.
5200 Block of S. Rutherford Ave on 28 July, 2017 at approximately 03:45 A.M.
Offender Description:
(2) Males, NFD
What you can do:
• Keep the perimeter of your property well lit
• Report suspicious activity immediately
• Keep doors and windows secured
• Immediately repair any broken windows, doors or locks
• If video surveillance is available, save and make a copy of the incident for
investigating detectives.
• Make an agreement with your neighbors to watch each other’s homes for
suspicious activity.
• If you are a victim do not touch anything, call police immediately
• If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information

This alert gives notice to residents in the 8th District (Chicago Lawn) of robbery incidents which have occurred during the month of July. In these incidents, the offenders approach the victims near their vehicle and announce a robbery. The offenders flee with the victims personal belongings.
Incident Times and Locations:
•7000 Block of Artesian Avenue on July 15, 2017 at approximately 1:16 a.m.
•2400 Block of West 71st Street on July 17, 2017 at approximately 2:48 p.m.
•2300 Block of West 72nd Street on July 21, 2017 at approximately 12:08 a.m.
•2600 Block of West 71st Street on July 23, 2017 at approximately 6:00 a.m.

About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 8th District (Chicago Lawn) of Deceptive Practice incidents in the month of July. In these incidents, the offender places an ad for an apartment rental. The victims give the offender rent/security deposit and then learn the property is not for rent and they lose the money they have given to the offender.

•6000 block of S. Pulaski Avenue on July 11, 2017 at 2:30 p.m.
•6000 block of S. Pulaski Avenue on July 11, 2017 at 8:00 p.m.
•6000 block of S. Pulaski Avenue on July 13, 2017 at 9:00 p.m.
•6000 block of S. Pulaski Avenue on July 18, 2017 at 10:00 p.m.

This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 008th District (Chicago Lawn) of

burglary incidents that occurred during the month of June. In these incidents, the

offender(s) gained entry into a residence through a rear window/door and removed

property from therein. Incident times and locations listed below:

4700 Block of S. Tripp Ave on 06 June, 2017 at approximately 01:00 P.M.

4700 Block of S. Tripp Ave on 06 June, 2017 at approximately 01:57 P.M.

4700 Block of S. Kildare Ave on 11 June, 2017 at approximately 11:07 P.M.

Offender Description:

Male Hispanic, 5’07” to 5’09” tall, 160 to 175 lbs., 20 to 30 years of age

What you can do:

Keep the perimeter of your property well lit

Report suspicious activity immediately
