Lyons Man Charged with Murder
Andrew Smith was positively identified as the offender of a shooting incident on the 6700 block of South East End Ave on July 19, 2016, at approximately 6:37 p.m. During this incident, Smith approached a male 38, and fired several shots before fleeing. The victim was taken to Northwestern Hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest and was later pronounced. Smith was taken into custody a short distance away and charged accordingly. CPD Community Alert- Theft from Auto 012th District
This alert gives notice to citizens residing in the 012th District (Near West) of Theft from Auto incidents which have occurred in recent weeks. In these incidents, unknown offender(s) gained entry into parked vehicles by breaking a window of the vehicle or opening unlocked car doors. Once inside, offender(s) removed property from inside the vehicle. The offenders have targeted parked vehicles that had purses, laptops and bags easily visible from the outside of the vehicle.
