This alert gives notice to the residents of the 14th District (Shakespeare) of a recent Criminal Sexual Assault and Armed Robbery which occurred on December 14, 2016 at 3:52 a.m. During this incident, a 30-year-old male and a 23-year-old female were sitting inside of a parked vehicle on the 2700 block of West Crystal when they were approached by 4 unknown offenders, all of whom were armed with handguns. The offenders pointed the handguns at the victims and demanded their property. Two of the offenders then forcefully sexually assaulted the female victim at gunpoint. One of the offenders then attempted to force the female victim into the offender’s vehicle before shoving her to the ground. The offenders subsequently entered their vehicle and fled the scene.

015th District (Austin)

About the Crime:

This alert gives notice of two Armed Robberies that occurred within the boundaries

of the 015th District (Austin). There have been two Armed Robberies in which the

victims agreed to meet an unknown female subject via a social media website. Once

the victims arrived at the agreed upon location they were robbed at gunpoint by two

offenders.

Incident times and locations:

• 900 block of N. Parkside on November 28, 2016 at 9:30am.

• 900 block of N. Parkside on December 3, 2016 at 5:00am.

About the Offender:

There are two offenders, both are described as male blacks, unknown age,

approximately 5’8″ to 5’10” tall; one offender had a dreadlocks hairstyle.

What you can do:

• Be aware of this crime and alert your neighbors.

• Pay special attention to any suspicious people loitering in the area.

• Do not arrange to meet with strangers through social media websites.

• Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of the offender(s)

including any vehicle description and license plate information.

019th and 024th Districts

About This Crime

This alert gives notice to businesses operating in the above Area North districts of several

armed robberies of Grocery/Drug style stores. During these incidents, the offender entered

the store, approached the cashier and demanded currency from the register, while armed

with a handgun.

About the Offender(s)

The offender is described as a male, Hispanic, between the ages of 25-45 years old. He is

between 5’08”-5’11” tall and weighing 180-230lbs. The offender has brown hair and eyes.

He was wearing a tan Carhartt style jacket, with a black hooded sweatshirt, and cargo style

pants.

Incidents times and locations:

These incidents have occurred in the overnight hours between 8:00pm- 02:00 a.m. These

incidents have occurred on beats 1921, 1925 and 2433

6100 block of N. Broadway on 26 Nov 2016 at 04:19am and 7:40pm

3200 block of N. Broadway on 27 Nov 2016 at 01:28am

3400 block of N. Western on 27 Nov 2016 at 01:50am

Be aware of this pattern crime and alert your friends and family about these crimes.

Employees should call 911 to report any suspicious persons lingering around their

business.

Business owners should ensure that their business is equipped with working video

surveillance system and hold up alarm.

About This Crime

On November 21, 2016, at approximately 6:00 p.m., two juvenile females, ages 10 and 14 were playing outside in the 4000 block of W. Wabansia when an unknown driver of a green or blue vehicle pulled along the curb and motioned with his hands for the girls to come closer. When the girls approached the vehicle, the offender told them to get in so he could take them to the store.

This alert gives notice of Robberies that have occurred in the 011th District during the month of November. During these incidents, the offender took a purse from the victim at a CTA bus stop. In the last incident, the offender displayed a knife before taking the victim’s purse.

This alert gives notice of Armed Robberies that have occurred within the boundaries of the 016th District (Jefferson Park). During two of the robberies the offender approaches the victims on the street, strikes the victim in the head and takes the victim’s purse. In one case, the offender displayed a handgun, struck the victim in the head and took the victim’s purse.

This alert gives notice to the residents of the 16th District (Jefferson Park) of several residential and apartment burglaries that have occurred in the month of November. In these incidents, unknown offender(s) have entered apartments and residences through front or rear doors and have taken jewelry, cash, and other miscellaneous items. Offender(s) also use deceptive ruses to gain entry to the residences where one offender distracts the victim while another offender enters the residence. For More Information Click Here
