Wanted for Attempt Kidnapping 25th Dist _HY270918_On May 22, 2015, at approximately 7:15 a.m., a female juvenile was walking west on the 6300 block of west Fullerton. An unknown male Hispanic offender, driving a silver, 4 door vehicle, called to the victim and offered to give the victim a ride. When the victim refused, he offered her money to get in his vehicle. The victim continued walking and the offender drove away in an unknown direction.

017thDist Wanted for Burglary_Four recent Burglary related incidents have occurred in the 17th District on beat 1722.  In two cases, unknown offenders pried open the victim’s door and in two other cases, offenders entered through an unlocked door. The offenders have taken jewelry, cash, laptops, and small electronics.

Officers responded to a “holding citizen” call in the 3100 block of N Southport on May 18, 2015 at approximately 10:00 p.m. Jaleel Johnson was observed following a 21 year old female into the vestibule of her building. Upon entry, he grabbed her, pushed her to the ground, and took her purse before fleeing. Three male adult witnesses pursued Johnson and caught him a short distance away. They detained him until police arrived. Johnson was identified by the victim as the offender and charged accordingly. The victim refused medical attention and her purse and the contents within were recovered. No further information available at this time.

About the crime:

This alert gives notice to the residents of the 11th District (Harrison) of two Robberies that have occurred in the month of May. In both incidents, the victims were standing at a CTA bus stop and a gray mini-van pulled up to the bus stop. In both of these Robberies, the offenders then exited the mini-van and used force to take property from the victims. The offenders took a watch, a purse and money from the victims.

Robberies have occurred in the 024th District during which one or two offender(s) approach the victims on the public way in the early morning hours and display a silver hand gun while verbally demanding that the victims give them everything they have. One incident involved the taking of wallets and phones, and the other incident involved the taking of property and the victim’s vehicle.  11May15 024th Dist-Armed Robberies-P15-N-114_CA[1]

Ronald Sparks was arrested on May 11, 2015 at approximately 1:45 a.m. in the 800 block of N. State Street. An Action K9 Security Agent observed Sparks smoking inside a CTA rail car. The agent observed that Sparks also matched the description of a wanted criminal sexual assault offender from May 10, 2015 at 5:00 a.m. Sparks was detained until Chicago Police arrived. Sparks was identified as the offender who attacked a 27 year old female CTA passenger on a southbound Red Line train. Sparks was arrested and charged accordingly. No further information is available at this time.

This alert gives notice to the Business Owners of the 20th District (Lincoln) of several recent commercial burglaries that have occurred. In these incidents, unknown offender(s) have entered business through doors or windows by force using a pry tool or blunt object. Items taken include cash, cash registers, cigarettes, batteries and other miscellaneous items.

Incident times and locations:

There have been nine incidents that have occurred since April 1, 2015. These incidents have taken place, within the boundaries of Sheridan to Clark and Gunnison to Peterson, during the late PM hours to the early AM hours.

  •  5000 block of N. Sheridan on April 1, 2015, at 3:00 AM
  • 5300 block of N. Broadway on April 2, 2015, at 3:00 AM
  • 5200 block of N. Broadway on April 11, 2015 at 3:15 AM
  • 1600 block of W. Foster on April 13, 2015 at 3:00 AM
  • 5400 block of N. Broadway on April 17, 2015 at 10:15 PM
  • 5200 block of N. Broadway on 2 May, 2015 at 3:45 AM
  • 5800 block of N. Broadway on 3 May 2015 at 12:00 AM
  • 5200 block of N. Clark on 5 May 2015 at 6:15 AM
  • 5700 block of N. Broadway on 10 May 2015 1:00 AM

Marcus Jones was arrested on May 7th, 2015 at approximately 1:37 a.m. in the 1500 Block of W. Morse Ave. Officers responded to a burglary in progress call and located Marcus Jones inside. Jones had a shopping cart filled with various pieces of office equipment and was in possession of a pry bar. Jones was arrested and charged accordingly. Further investigation by Area North Detectives revealed Marcus Jones to be the man wanted in connection with several condominium burglaries in the area. A Community Alert with his photo was sent out on April 29, 2015. Jones has been charged accordingly in several of these incidents. Detectives continue to investigate other possible victims. Marcus Jones appeared in Central Bond Court on May 8, 2015. No further information is available at this time.
