The Chicago Police Department will be conducting a DUI Strike Force Patrol in the Town Hall (19th) District this weekend. The DUI Strike Force Patrol will commence at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 2nd, 2016 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday January 3rd, 2016.

ROADSIDE SAFETY CHECK – ENGLEWOOD (7th) DISTRICT
The Chicago Police Department will conduct a Roadside Safety Check in the Englewood (7th) District at 6401 South Ashland Ave. The Roadside Safety Check will commence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 1st , 2016 and end at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 2nd 2016.

Community Alert – Wanted for Residential Burglary – 004th District (South Chicago)
This alert gives notice to residents of the 3000 block of East Cheltenham Place of four residential burglaries. In each incident, the offender entered the victim’s apartment and removed property contained therein.
Mayor Emanuel and Police Superintendent Escalante Announce Districts for Body-Worn Camera Expansion
Today, Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Interim Police Superintendent John Escalante announced the additional six police districts that will soon be part of the Chicago Police Department’s expanded body-worn camera program.

Community Alert – Wanted for Public Indecency – 002nd District (Wentworth)
This alert gives notice to residents of the 002nd District (Wentworth) of a Public Indecency incident. On Wednesday, December 15th, 2015, on the 4700 block of South Ellis at approximately 9:40am, a female minor was walking to school when an unknown offender, exposed his genitals to the female minor. The offender was seated in a black 4-door vehicle. The female victim immediately fled the scene and contacted the police.
Englewood Man Charged with Murder
Demarco Bennett was arrested after he was identified as the man who fired shots at a 26 year old man, fatally striking him. This incident occurred on December 13, 2015 in the 7200 block of S. May St. at approximately 10:05 a.m. Bennett fired shots at the victim as he was outside. He then fled the scene in a vehicle at a high rate of speed. Responding officers were able to curb the vehicle and detain him after a brief foot pursuit. The victim was taken to Christ Hospital in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the head. He was later pronounced. Demarco Bennett was charged accordingly. Another male suspect was also arrested and later released without charging. No further information is available at this time.
Community Alert – Wanted for Luring of Youth – 008th District (Chicago Lawn)
On Sunday, December 13, 2015, at approximately 12:15 p.m., a 15-year-old female victim was walking southbound on the 6500 block of South Pulaski. A male Hispanic approached her on foot and asked if she needed a ride (in Spanish). The victim went into a store and asked the store clerk to call the police. The offender followed the victim into the store and continued to try and talk to the victim. The offender then left the store and was last seen traveling westbound on the 6600 block of South Pulaski in a royal blue pick-up truck.
Giving to Others During Christmas Season – 022nd District (Monterey)

Commander Mark Harmon and the 022nd District decided that it should be about “Giving to Others in the Community” when celebrating Beat 2234’s Christmas Party. The District adopted families from nearby Schoop Elementary from 111th S. Bishop offering a luncheon and gifts to the children. The service to the community did not end there. The 022nd District “Review Officer” collected donations from District personnel to provide a special Christmas for a grandmother raising six grand kids who’s mother had fallen victim to violence.
Business Alert – Wanted for Robbery of Delivery Drivers – 022nd District (Morgan Park)
This alert gives notice to businesses in the Morgan Park (022nd District) of Robbery incidents that occurred in the Morgan Park neighborhood. In these incidents, offenders ordered food to be delivered to the area of 10700 S. Loomis. Two incidents occurred in September where drivers were assaulted by a group of offenders armed with 2X4 pieces of wood. More recently, drivers were confronted by African American males who displayed a firearm demanding the food and money.
